Just when fans thought there would be "Hospital Playlist" Season 3, the fan-favorite tvN drama's cast revealed the coming of a Blu-ray set instead. The show's main cast members and producer Shin Won Ho dropped the surprise announcement that had the viewers hoping.

Jo Jung Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, Jeon Mi Do, Yoo Yeon Seok, Kim Dae Myung and Shin Won Ho announced the release of the Blu-ray set. After the cast teased the possibility of "Hospital Playlist" Season 3, is there no hope for the new season to come?

In an official announcement on Instagram, they revealed a director's cut Blu-ray discs of the series would be produced. It would include the first and second seasons and a special commentary by the actors themselves.

Though the announcement didn't reveal when it would be out, it teased that it would be coming soon. "So stay tuned for just a little bit," it continued.

However, AllKpop noted that after the announcement was made, some fans felt sad that it wasn't about "Hospital Playlist" Season 3. Despite that, though, they would still wait for the Blu-ray disc's release and they all looked forward to the commentary video.

So why were fans expecting a new season? It was because a few cast members posted some photos together that many thought there would be a new season for the series.

The 99ers members could be seen wearing their scrubs and doctors' gowns in the snaps. With the second season's tearful ending, there are a lot of stories that could be explored in the new season.

Though director Shin Won Ho earlier claimed, via Cheat Sheet, that doing a new season wasn't an "easy decision," a cast reunion might be easy to do so. The doctors have now entered new relationships and life adventures.

Ik Jun (Jo Jung Suk) and Song Hwa (Jeon Mi Do) now have a romance. Someone even left to study abroad. So, would these particular storylines continue?

Sadly, Shin Won Ho revealed he had no plans for a new season. Soompi even cited the new season might not happen soon due to some health concerns.

The director explained that since he had heard a lot of concerns and exhaustion from producing the drama for more than one season, it was hard for him to decide if he would continue its story. However, fans and even the cast members themselves are hoping "Hospital Playlist" Season 3 will still happen.
