Jang Ki Yong made a revelation that surprised many. The 29-year-old star revealed on "Cultwo Show" that his "Now, We Are Breaking Up" co-star Song Hye Kyo visited him when he was in the military.
Jang Ki Yong graced the SBS Power FM radio program with EXO's Chanyeol and ONF's Hyojin. They all donned military uniforms to promote the musical "Blue Helmet: A Song of Meissa."
However, amid everything they said, what caught everyone's attention was when the "My Roommate is a Gumiho" star revealed he filmed the SBS drama until before his enlistment. In fact, he was still filming the show four days before he officially enlisted.
He only managed to watch his performance a month after his enlistment. As he felt rushed doing the series due to his military work, he felt awkward seeing his acting.
From there, Jang Ki Yong revealed Song Hye Kyo visited him in the military, along with the whole "Now, We Are Breaking Up" team. They all came up to see him and gave him strength as he performed his duties.
In spite of the 11-year gap between the two, fans think there's an incredible bond between the two on the small screen. In fact, netizens like to think there's something between them due to their sweet behind-the-scene photos, per KBIZoom.
Not only that, though, fans also noticed Song Joong Ki's former wife followed Jang Ki Yong on Instagram. Despite the number of male actors she has worked with before, they say it's the first time she follows any of her co-stars.
Add to that their alleged closeness behind the scenes; it may pretty much explain the sweetness they had shown in the series that perfectly fit their roles. With that said, many believe Song Hye Kyo has feelings "above the level of a colleague" for Jang Ki Yong.
So, how was their chemistry on the set? The 29-year-old actor revealed working with the "Descendants of the Sun" star was a dream come true, Zapzee cited.
In fact, it was like a "very distant goal" that he had. It was like a picture that he only drew in his imagination that happened sooner than expected.
"So, I was all dazzled from the table read," he said. However, for Song Hye Kyo herself, Jang Ki Yong was a junior actor who was "just so innocent, bright, cheerful and transparent."
He followed her lead and wasn't afraid to ask her questions and help. So, for Song Hye Kyo, Jang Ki Yong would be loved "wherever he goes."
