EXO Suho is now in the hot waters after allegedly making a negative statement about the new idols. The band leader reportedly said new K-pop stars these days are lazy during his fan sign event to promote his second mini-album, "Grey Suit."
Top Star News quoted Suho as saying and published an article with an intriguing title, "EXO's Suho makes an eye-catching remark that 'Idols these days are lazy.'" So, did he criticize the newcomers in the industry?
The title shows that the 30-year-old star is criticizing the new idols today. However, AllKpop noted there's a deeper message the hitmaker wants to make.
In fact, he cleared he said the phrase as a joke. In the article, he said he didn't see "this" as a grand event as everyone could do it.
From there, he said the thought "idols are lazy these days." However, he also mentioned that the agencies might be the problem, considering companies are continuously getting bigger these days the market is starting to get crowded.
"So I feel they [the agencies] can't pay attention to the details, which is unfortunate," he explained. As many see this as a negative remark, fans came to Suho's defense.
One fan said the article's title was a clickbait, while others stressed he only said it as a joke. Some even saw his comment as true, seeing the market saturated and the companies are no longer paying attention to details.
Another pinpointed that the EXO member didn't mention anything about the rookie idols but the idols in general.
Meanwhile, on a lighter note, Suho revealed on SBS Power FM's radio program "Choi Hwa Jung's Power Time" that he had lost weight and now only weighs 60kg. The host, DJ Choi Hwa Jung, noticed he looked so thin after returning from his military service.
The "How Are U Bread" star revealed he gained about 10kg during his service and peaked at 70kg. But now, he only weighs 60kg. However, he promised to exercise and gain weight again after his promotional activities were over.
Choi Hwa Jung even made a joke that Suho was only bones now after she hugged him. Despite that, she said he was still the same as before, like he time traveled.
Suho is now back in the business after his military service. He released his new solo album, "Grey Suit," on April 4, in which he participated in planning its concept and writing the lyrics for all the tracks.
