2PM's Junho and Girls' Generation's YoonA will take their incredible chemistry on the small screen after their lauded "2021 MBC Gayo Daejejeon" performance. The two will lead the new K-drama, "King the Land," so fans will see more of them romantically in the series.
"King the Land" is a new romantic comedy-drama series about the hoteliers. So, what will be Junho and YoonA's roles here?
AllKpop noted Junho would play the role of Goo Won, a chaebol son of a well-known family. They own a collection of luxury hotel, airline and distribution businesses.
The family will have a big inheritance battle with this fortune, and Goo Won will be caught in the middle. But with his elegance, wit and charms, he may just come out on top.
However, if there is one thing Goo Won does not know, it is about romance. He is the total opposite of Chun Sa Rang, who will be YoonA's role.
She is a hotelier who possesses the sweetest smile that can brighten up anyone's world. She decides to work as a hotelier at King the Land because of her happiest childhood memory at the said hotel.
From there, the story of "King the Land" will begin. The new K-drama will be produced by the collaboration of NPIO Entertainment and BY4M Studio and it may start filming this fall.
Meanwhile, everyone loved YoonA and Junho's performance at the 2021 MBC Gayo Daejejeon last year. The two didn't just host the event with Jang Sung Kyu. They also performed "Senorita" together and unveiled their incredible chemistry.
In an interview with Celeb Media in January, as reported by KBIZoom, the 2PM member talked about their collaboration and the story behind their performance. He said it had been a long time since he prepared for a year-end performance and he wanted to show his cool side as a senior K-pop idol.
Thankfully, fans enjoyed their number and he felt glad they received positive responses. He also revealed it was the first time in 12 years that he joined the stage with YoonA and he felt strange and overwhelmed at the same time.
"We met and had a pleasant conversation after a long time," he said. "It was nice talking to her."
Alternatively, YoonA released a behind-the-scenes clip of her and Junho's rehearsal for the event. Jazmine Media revealed the two took four hours to learn and perfect their dance special.
