A year after their first dating rumors emerged, NCT's Haechan and ITZY's Ryujin are once again the talk of the town for their alleged romance. The two seem to have coordinating pet names that raise some fans' eyebrows.
Haechan and Ryujin are once again a hot topic on an online community forum. A netizen pointed out their respective pets' names have a similar theme.
AllKpop noted Ryujin has two cats named Byul and Dal, which means star and moon in English. Alternatively, Haechan's dog is named Woojoo, which translates to the universe.
Although some say it may just be a coincidence, others believe it is fate. A netizen said it was suspicious, considering there are undying dating rumors surrounding the two.
Add to that the egg flower and the way he got flustered after revealing his V app subscription to ITZY, it seemed to confirm that the two were dating.
"If it's to this extent, aren't they just saying, 'please notice the fact that we are dating'?" another said. A different fan wondered if they were enjoying the thrill of dating while hiding, asking why they did not just reveal it.
This was not the first time that Haechan and Ryujin were embroiled in a dating rumor. The talks started in May 2021 when the NCT member held a solo live stream on Naver's V Live to talk to his fans.
When he opened the app on his iPad while live streaming, the screen showed he was only following two accounts-NCT and ITZY. After realizing his screen was visible to the camera, he suddenly looked flustered as he tried to cover the screen as soon as possible.
Since then, netizens have been on a hunt to find evidence that will prove the two are dating. Later, they learn they have similar items, fuelling the claims that they are a thing.
It has been known that it is a trend for a couple to have matching items in South Korea. KPopStarz noted that Haechan and Ryujin had the same iPhone cases, Bluetooth headphones, watches, clothes, etc.
In addition, ITZY members seemed to notice Ryujin was more conscious of her appearance when they were promoting "Mafia in the Morning." Though she said she just realized the fun of buying clothes at the time, some said it might have something to do with her alleged brewing romance with Haechan.
However, neither SM Entertainment nor JYP Entertainment comment on the issue of Ryujin and Haechan dating. The two also remain mum about it.
