SBS confirmed the coming of "Taxi Driver" Season 2 on Thursday, June 9, as part of the K-dramas hitting the small screens in 2023. So, who among the cast members will reprise their roles?

SBS released an official statement to confirm the release of "Taxi Driver" Season 2. With the immense love it received from viewers for the first season, the network hoped it would continue until the second installment.

AllKpop noted that the cast members Lee Je Hoon, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuki Jin and Bae Yoo Ram confirmed their appearances. The show would soon begin its production, hoping it would be out in 2023.

The series is based on the popular webtoon of the same name. It follows the story of a secretive taxi service that helps people who the law has wronged.

The members of the taxi service have been constantly on the run from society's higher-ups but continue to find criminals who the law leaves unpunished. Their main goal is to avenge the oppressed victims.

With the first season's high viewership rating, the original cast now reunites to do "Taxi Driver" Season 2 and deliver an even more "action-packed story."

Meanwhile, as Lee Je Hoon and Pyo Ye Jin confirmed their return to reprise their roles as Kim Do Gi and Ahn Go Eun, Esom, who played Kang Ha Na, had left the show. The 32-year-old stepped down from her role due to some issues, per KDrama Stars.

JoyNews24 revealed that the actress' agency, Artist Company, announced her exit because of "difficulty coordinating the schedule." Elsewhere, the script reading for "Taxi Driver" Season 2 will be on June 12 and will feature the cast, director, and crew.

The show's first season received a massive hype with a 16% viewership rating. Its final episode even made a record-breaking history as the fourth highest-rated SBS Friday-Saturday K-drama, joining the likes of "The Penthouse 2," "Hot Stove League" and "The Fiery Priest."

The series was also popular among international fans after its release on Netflix. In addition, aside from its star-studded cast, fans also praised the show for covering current societal issues, like bullying, harassment and more.

By the looks of it, "Taxi Driver" Season 2 has to match and even surpass what the first season brought to the audience. Are fans ready for Kim Do Gi and Ahn Go Eun's return?
