BLACKPINK's Jennie shared more about herself in an interview with Rolling Stone and in her new YouTube video. From her life in New Zealand to her favorite perfume, know more things about the fan-favorite K-pop star.
Jennie posted the video "Jennie's Selfcare Routines" on her YouTube channel, Jennierubyjane, on Tuesday, June 7. Here, she shared her self-care routine and show she looks after her mental and physical health.
She first showed different things she uses, like foam rollers, head massagers and lip scrubs. She then revealed the scents she likes, AllKpop noted.
The 26-year-old admitted her smell is sensitive, so there are only specific scents that she prefers to use. She told her viewers that people around her know she gets "scent-sick very easily," so she's actually not fond of perfumes.
Instead, she opts for fruity smells, like lemon and citrus, and other subtle scents, such as jasmine and baby powder. The idol also revealed she likes scents that are very close to nature, like wood or earthy smells, adding she prefers natural fragrances.
Meanwhile, talking about her personal life, Jennie said in an interview with Rolling Stone, as BLACKPINK graced the magazine's cover June issue, how she transferred to New Zealand from Korea. She was born in the said Asian country but moved to the island at nine, only returning after five years, IWMBuzz.
Despite being away from her family at a young age, she felt delighted by the change. In fact, she quickly adapted and lived independently without her mom.
However, she couldn't help but compare the two countries' differences, especially in education. She used to go to hagwon (cram school) in Korea after school and stay there late.
But in New Zealand, she was free to play around and found it far more fun than the cram school. Though it was sad to be away from her family, she was happy to be in another country.
This happiness could even be seen in a documentary that MBC did, featuring her life in New Zealand. She then revealed how living alone made her stronger, making her unable to feel like she had to "put up with her stay."
She didn't even feel that she was alone and had to bear it as she was doing it every day. However, Jennie couldn't deny that she missed her mother, so they decided to move in together as soon as they could.
