BTS's RM talked about his love for the art in Art Basel's podcast "Intersections," released on Tuesday, June 28. Aside from being fond of different artworks, the group leader also plans to have an exhibit of his own to feature his private collection.

Fans know RM has a passion for art. In fact, he's often seen visiting different art museums and galleries. He also shows off his personal collection on social media.

So, in the podcast, he shared the first art piece that he had acquired and his future plans, per AllKpop. From there, he revealed he's planning to open a small exhibit to display his private collection.

He said he felt the people in Korea didn't get the chance to see beautiful art pieces due to the lack of art galleries. "This is the first time I am saying this, but, seriously, I am planning to make a small of my own private collection," he said.

The exhibit may also have a café on the first floor, while his collection will be featured on the second and third floors. That way, people can see his collection if they just want to.

The rapper explained there are not many great Korean artists because there are only a few museums and galleries in the country now. With that said, he wants to make his own.

Teen Vogue added that RM first got interested in art when he felt bored when he was on tour in the U.S. and Europe in 2018. He needed to do something at the time while he was waiting for his performances and rehearsals, so he went to the Art Institute of Chicago.

There, he experienced the beautiful and historical works of different artists and saw his life and art in a huge context. Though the likes of the iconic artists like Picasso and Monet are already dead, it made him feel a new thrill in life.

RM stressed that he didn't like to divide the art world, but he noticed that most visual artists and painters found fame after dying. "Their soul is really a long time thing, a long period thing," he said.

However, these art pieces inspired him. After seeing someone make their paintings in their 20s, change their concepts in their 30s and start sculpting in their 40s, they all give him courage.

As he's just 29 in Korea, he knows things will be different when he reaches the age of 30. The BTS member still sees himself as a young man.

But in the K-pop world, turning 30 years old is different. Though it's sad, RM can't deny it's true.
