Crunchyroll dropped the new "Mushoku Tensei" Season 2 trailer at the recent Anime Expo 2022. It gave fans a glimpse of what to expect in the new season, like a more mature Rudeus.
Fans will no longer see a young Rudeus in "Mushoku Tensei" Season 2. As he seems older now, it looks like he's ready to navigate the world on his own.
Viewers will continuously see more adventures of the Japanese NEET as he resumes living his life to the fullest. With the perfect handling of this Isekai genre, there will be more intriguing stories and stunning animation fans are about to see.
In the trailer, fans see an older Rudeus. His looks are now more mature, while his voice sounds older.
His older friends and companions are no longer on his side, so he now has to face the world on his own. SportsKeeda noted the light novel readers know Rudeus would be entering the Ranoa Magic Academy in "Mushoku Tensei" Season 2.
He will be reconnected with his old friends and one of them will be Sylphiette. There will also be new and interesting characters that the new season will introduce.
Just like the first season, the second installment will cover six volumes of the light novel series. With that said, fans can expect to see another set of Rudeus' fun adventures.
For starters, the coming of "Mushoku Tensei" Season 2 was officially announced in March. Studio Bind handled the first season's animation under the direction of Manabu Okamoto.
Anime Corner cited that the first season was divided into two cours and was released in the winter and fall of 2021. It had 23 episodes and featured an OVA that focused on Eris.
The anime is based on the light novel by Rifujin na Magonote with illustrations of Shirotaka. It also has a manga adaptation that is currently running, along with two spinoffs: "Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious" and the newly-published Eris spinoff with an unofficial English title "Eris Seriously Sharpens Her Fangs," per AniRadio Plus.
Seven Seas publishes the light novel in English and describes its plot with the life of Rudeus. The protagonist is an unemployed 34-year-old, who his family has kicked out.
He has hit rock bottom and is now wandering the streets, but things get worse when he is hit and killed by a speeding truck. He's reborn as an infant amid the world of swords and sorcery.
However, the memories of his past life remain. This makes Rudeus determined not to repeat his mistakes from the past.
He plans to make the most of his new life and begins a new adventure of a lifetime. "Mushoku Tensei" Season 2 is set to be out in 2023.
