After three years, Jessi has officially left Psy's music label, P Nation. As one of the first artists to join the then-new agency, this move surprised many.
Jessi joined the likes of Dawn, Hyuna, HEIZE and more as the first artists of P Nation when it began in 2019. Though fans may see it as the end of Jessi's career, the "NUNU NANA" hitmaker reveals she's only starting. So, what's next for the 33-year-old rapper?
In a post on Instagram, the K-pop star revealed that she's not yet retiring and is just about to start. She knew people would start to make assumptions after she left the company, but she promised the truth would "reveal itself in a matter of time."
She then asked her fans to give her some time to collect her thoughts and breathe after continuously working since 2005. She thanked her fandom, Jebbies, for their unconditional love and support and swore his love for P Nation "for life."
Alternatively, Psy's music label released an official statement about Jessi's departure after her exclusive contract with the agency had expired, per AllKpop.
It first expressed deep gratitude to everyone who had sent their love and interest to the female artist. It then informed its followers that her contract had expired.
By the looks of it, she didn't renew and left. It then said being with the company from the beginning to becoming its first artist helped the idol secure her position as a performer, who many had loved for her warm passion and endless efforts.
She didn't only inspire her fans. P Nation added that her process and achievements became "positive and enjoyable sources of motivation" for every company member.
With that said, there's no bad blood between the two and the agency would continue to cheer on Jessi's future endeavors as an artist. It also vowed to support her activities continuously.
P Nation ended its note by thanking all of the fans who cherished Jessi and even asked them to continue to send warm encouragement and support on her way.
She recently treated fans with a collaboration with Kang Daniel for the song "Don't Tell." She's also behind the Ed Sheeran track "Shivers" remix with fellow K-pop start SUNMI, per Bandwagon Asia.
Truly, Jessi has no plans to stop as she's set to travel to Manila, Philippines, to perform her first concert, "Zoom in Manila," in the country on September 30.
