"Chainsaw Man" Part 2 will be finally out this week and to hype fans more, the manga series drops a new key visual that seems to introduce a new character. This new persona also has Denji by the head, so is she a friend or foe?
The ad seems to show a woman who will be part of "Chainsaw Man" Part 2. Though the image looks simple with its black and white theme, it also appears sinister with the decapitated head of Denji.
In the photo posted by WSJ manga on Twitter, the woman is seen wearing a school uniform while having her dark hair pulled back. She's holding Denji's head in her hands while blood drops on the floor.
To add more mystery, a headless chicken is backing the woman and has a bow tied around its neck. Comicbook noted this unknown character is also part of "Chainsaw Man" Part 2's second ad.
So, by the looks of it, Tatsuki Fujimoto has big plans for this character. Will she be a major part of the series' return?
Fans aren't sure if they have already seen this woman before. Some said she might have a connection with Aki, while others claimed she's a new character.
Thankfully, readers will soon find out who she is. The much-awaited manga's second part will be out on Wednesday, July 13, on Shonen Jump+.
It will continue the events after the first part's Public Security Arc that ended in December 2020. Fans know the series will continue this year, along with the release of its much-anticipated anime adaptation.
Fortunately, fans all over the world will have the chance to read "Chainsaw Man" Part 2. It will be published on Manga Plus in different languages: English, Spanish, Thai, French and Portuguese, per Anime Corner, and will be seen at the same time as Japan.
Its anime adaptation, alternatively, will be out later this year and can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
For starters, "Chainsaw Man" Part 1 started serialization in 2018 and continued until 2020. It had 97 chapters and 11 volumes. Viz Media licensed the manga in English.
Crunchyroll described its story, starting with Denji, a teenage boy living with the Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. He has been on a down low while trying to repay the debts his father left behind by gathering the devil corpses with Pochita.
One day, Denji gets betrayed and killed. As consciousness gradually fades, he makes a deal with Pochita and gets revived as a Chainsaw Man-a man with a devil's heart. Fans will continue to see his life and adventures in "Chainsaw Man" Part 2.
