A reputable series leaker drops major information about the upcoming "One Piece" Chapter 1054 on Twitter on Wednesday, July 13. The update comes with an editor's note and teases what fans are about to see at the start of the new saga.

The Straw Hat members may be gearing up for more and new adventures. It also hints at the possibility that they're trying to avoid Ryokugyu, who's said to be in Wano, and their safe departure from the island.
This also gives birth to theories that they have begun their journey to a new island. Sports Keeda noted there's a possibility that they will start their voyage at the end of the chapter, while the first part may wrap up the loose ends of the Wano arc in "One Piece" Chapter 1054.
There are also assumptions that Ryokugyu was "off-paneled" or defeated off-screen and fans would only be updated on his loss. As this has happened several times in the Wano arc, it's not far from happening.
This part of the story may only be animated as anime-only scenes instead. The manga rarely revisits or reshown off-panel defeats unless it has directly affected the story's progress.
By the looks of it, the sole purpose of featuring Ryokugyu in the series is to give the Straw Hats a reason to leave Wano as soon as possible. Hence, he has likely been defeated off-panel.
Meanwhile, "One Piece" Chapter 1053 showed Luffy and Buggy joining Shanks and Teach to be the new Emperors, per Dual Shockers. The government also put a bounty of 3 billion Berries on Luffy's head, making him one of the most wanted pirates in the world.
The previous chapter also revealed that Kozuki Sukiyaki is still alive and was only imprisoned in a room for years. He blamed himself for letting Orochi take over the country, though he seemed to have no plans to tell Momonosuke the truth.
So, would the series show more of these two's relationship? Chapter 1053 also revealed Ryokugyu was on his way to Onigashima and he wasn't happy that Luffy had defeated Kaido and Big Mom.
Knowing Ryokugyu is one of Luffy's biggest enemies, many expect a big battle between these two in "One Piece" Chapter 1054, though it may be off-panel. The new chapter is expected to be out on Sunday, July 24, after Eiichiro Oda's one-month break.
