A royal author, who used to be close to the late Princess Diana, believes Prince Harry will eventually return to the U.K. and reunite with his family after stepping down as a senior royal and moving to the U.S. However, the big question is, will his wife, Meghan Markle, approve?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have established new lives with their kids, Archie and Lilibet, in California after they left the U.K. in 2020. However, a royal expert is convinced the Duke of Sussex will "return into the royal fold," though it's just a matter of when.

The Princess of Wales' former bodyguard Ken Wharfe wrote the book "Diana: Remembering the Princess" with Ros Coward and claimed the Sussexes' decision to step back from their royal duties wasn't final yet, Express noted.

Wharfe compared the People's Princess and her sons, Princes William and Harry. He said that if Prince Charles' former wife were alive today, she would have likely maintained a "high profile role" in the charity world.

The former police protection added that the royal siblings, alternatively, were very much like their mother's sons despite the differences between them. Though Kate Middleton's husband seemed to revert to a world away from the spotlight regarding his children, he tried to engage and bring a "more modernized approach."

However, in Prince Harry's case, the public could see Princess Diana's legacy. But if he ever decided to return to the royal fold, which Wharfe believed would happen one day, his likeliness to his mother would be clearer.

As a piece of evidence that the Duke of may will return to the U.K., he and his wife reportedly renewed their lease on their former royal residence of Frogmore Cottage. The move was much unexpected.

I instantly started speculations that they had plans to visit the U.K. more often in the future. With that said, Perez Hilton, a famed celebrity and gossip columnist, claimed that the British prince might soon want to return to his home country, stressing he might only be in the "honeymoon phase" of his life in the U.S.

In Kinsey Schofield's "To Di For Daily" podcast last month, he said the father-of-two had no family and lifelong friends in Montecito. Sure, he has made new pals with David Foster, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey, but it's just the honeymoon phase of moving.

It's just all fun right now; his kids are still young and the time may come when he wants them to have a close bond with his family. So, Prince Harry may return to the U.K., though it remains to be seen if Meghan Markle is down for it.
