Dating rumors are once again surrounding BLACKPINK's Jennie and BTS's V after a new photo of them together surfaced online on Tuesday, August 23. Just like their alleged snap on Jeju Island in May, fans are debating if the picture is real or not.
Jennie was seen smiling in the photograph, taking a mirror selfie while V was getting his hair done. Eagle-eyed fans started investigating the matter, suggesting the picture was only photoshopped.
AllKpop noted that some claimed the BLACKPINK member's hair shadow was proof that the photo was only edited. However, others contradicted, explaining the lighting from above would cause the shadow to look that way.
Internet sleuths also contended that the phone, bracelet, and cardigan the "SOLO" hitmaker was wearing were all hers and were already seen previously donned by her. Alternatively, they claimed V's outfit was the same clothing he wore when he left for Paris to attend Celine's fashion show in June.
They added that if the picture were only photoshopped, then there would be an original photo uploaded somewhere. However, they couldn't find anything. They also stressed that YG Entertainment and HYBE remained mum about-not denying the dating rumors.
In a discussion on Pann Nate, some fans asked others to let Jennie and V date happily instead of debating who likes who more. Others said they're only causing a fuss, giving the two so much unneeded attention.
Another fan claimed he would stay neutral on this issue, while a different follower revealed no one cares if they're indeed dating. Others chimed in, saying they already knew they were dating, so there shouldn't be a big problem about it.
"Congrats, this is Jennie's third dating, so I don't think fans would care anymore. Also, it's with BTS's V," another stated.
Earlier this year, Jennie and V were also rumored to be dating after their photo together, driving on Jeju Island, surfaced online. At the time, fans demanded a statement from the two's agencies, YG Entertainment and HYBE, to reveal the real deal between the biggest idols in the K-pop world.
Meaww cited that HYBE remained tight-lipped about the issue and refused to make any statement about it. However, YG Entertainment's response caused more controversies.
It stated it had nothing to say about the claim, explaining that it would release an official statement about the matter if it learned more. Until today, it remains to be confirmed if Jennie and V are indeed dating.
