Shinhwa member Shin Hye Sung is continuously in hot waters after a new video of him surfaces. The clip in question is surveillance footage from a convenience store where the K-pop star went before the DUI arrest, shocking many.
Shin Hye Sung is now in a middle of a big controversy after being found drunk and asleep inside a stolen car parked in the middle of the road, causing huge traffic. He reputedly refused to take a breathalyzer test, resulting in his arrest.
Amid the many questions and different claims surrounding the incident, new surveillance footage revealed the group vocalist was drunk as he made his way to the convenience store. Aside from not wearing a mask, he, too, had a cigarette in his mouth.
He then went on to drive the alleged stolen car in a drunken state. The idol's agency, Liveworks Company, earlier denied that he ran off with a vehicle that was not his, claiming the valet worker gave him the wrong keys.
However, the restaurant where he went released its own surveillance footage, revealing that Shin Hye used a car he didn't own on his own accord. The clip also showed no parking attendant was present when he left the premises.
Later, the "Perfect Man" singer apologized for false statements about the stolen vehicle. His agency released another account written by its talent's legal representatives to correct his claim.
They first apologized for what the company earlier said and explained that it was a result of a lack of communication between Shin Hye and Liveworks. They added that at the time the latter released an official statement, the band member was already arrested while his acquaintances, who were with him then, had uncleared memories of what happened.
As a result, the agency gathered wrong information and released inaccurate information. "We deeply apologize for this," they continued.
The representatives also revealed that after the investigation and returning that afternoon following the incident, Shin Hye reflected on his wrongdoings deeply.
