JTBC has continuously teased fans with its new drama, "Reborn Rich," featuring Song Joong Ki as the lead. In the third teaser video, Song Hye Kyo's former husband shows a sweet smile while crafting an evil plan.
"Reborn Rich" is a fantasy drama that tells the story of Yoon Hyun Woo (Song Joong Ki). He's a chaebol family's loyal secretary, but everything changes when he's framed for embezzlement by the family he serves, causing his death. Now, he will be reborn as the family's youngest son, Jin Doo Joon, planning to take over the company for revenge.
In the clip, the 37-year-old said that among the people around him was the person who killed him when he was brought to life as Jin Doo Joon after his death. Though the preview only runs for less than a minute, it's enough to tease fans of what's about to come.
Jin Do Joon looks soft and kind on the outside, but it's easy to notice his sharp eyes, calculating his every move whenever he's around the chaebol family. He's secretly plotting his revenge as the family puts their trust and faith in him.
Aside from Song Joong Ki's character, the "Reborn Rich" teaser also shows Jin Yang Chul (Lee Sung Min), Jin Do Joon's grandfather. The clip shows how he treats his so-called grandson.
While the two look amicable and caring toward each other, Jin Yang Chul seems to have plans of his own. Will he know that his grandson is the secretary they killed?
Jin Yang Chul grew up in poverty before becoming the president of South Korea's number one business. He has everything it takes to be the leader of a big conglomerate, and he's willing to do everything for money.
In an interview via Soompi, the 53-year-old revealed that writer Kim Tae Hee influenced him to do "Reborn Rich." He also had a lot of anticipation for the series, knowing that director Jung Dae Yoon would handle the show.
He knew that the director's meticulous approach to directing would add more "completeness" to the drama. He also praised the show's script for being incredibly well-detailed and new.
"I was impressed by the progression of the historical scale from past to present," Lee Sung Min said.
In addition, he talked about his character, saying he's the fieriest person when establishing the vision for Sunyang Group's future. He would do everything to protect the company, even if it meant he had to be more coldhearted and crueler than anyone else.
Lee Sung Min added more ideas to his character in "Reborn Rich," the company's formation, and the things he did to build the firm from scratch to its success. The new JTBC and Song Joong Ki series will premiere on Friday, November 18, at 10:30 p.m.
