Rumors have it that Zendaya and Tom Holland are already engaged, but the former's mother is not having any of it. Claire Stoermer reacted to the claims that her daughter and her boyfriend are about to tie the knot in an Instagram post on Wednesday, December 30.

Stoermer used Instagram Story to educate her followers and onlookers about clickbait news amid the rumors that Zendaya and Holland are already engaged. She also shared a book passage about the result people wanted to see.

The former teacher wrote that "clickbait typically refers to the practice of writing sensationalized or misleading headlines" to attract clicks on content. These contents often exaggerate claims or intentionally leave out key information to gain traffic.

"The term is generally used in a dismissive sense," she continued. In another Story, she shared a photo of a book passage, suggesting to stop thinking about the wanted result, which not everyone was after but the person they created "through the process."

The Zendaya and Holland engagement rumors began when Pop Hive tweeted on November 29 that the couple was already engaged. The post even came with their pictures snuggling up at an event.

The tweet in question now has more than 47,000 retweets and almost 30,000 quote tweets as of this writing. To add more fuel to the fire, Us Weekly reported that their relationship was already "serious and permanent."

A source even told the publication that the two were already in "settling-down mode" and planning their future together.

Holland and Zendaya's engagement rumors come on the heels of concerns about their romance due to the "Uncharted" star's absence from the 74th Primetime Emmys, where she won Outstanding Lead Actress in Drama for her role in HBO's hit drama series "Euphoria," in September. However, a different insider told HollywoodLife it wasn't his intention not to grace the event, but he was left with no choice because of his filming engagements in New York.

For starters, the pair met in 2016 when they did "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Page Six confirmed they were dating after seeing them make out inside a car in 2021.

In an interview, Zendaya told GQ last year that she found the public's fascination with their relationship "quite strange, weird, confusing, and invasive." She then said they both shared a similar sentiment to own the moments or things they had as a couple who really loved and cared for each other.
