HyunA has broken her silence over the claims that she and her ex-boyfriend, Dawn, have rekindled their romance. After breaking up in November 2022, the female idol shut down the rumors.
HyunA and Dawn ended their six-year romance to the surprise of many. As many still hope they will end up with each other, rumors have it that they're now back together.
The rumors began when the "Trouble Maker" singer debuted her new lip piercing on Instagram. Since her ex-boyfriend also has the same piercing and coincidentally on the same spot, many allude that it may be a couple piercing between the two.
So, to stop the rumors from spreading further, her representative stressed that the claims were "not true," per Soompi. The spokesperson then revealed that the exes are doing well and occasionally grabbing meals together as friends and good colleagues.
For starters, HyunA first announced that she and Dawn had broken up in a statement on Instagram. She simply said they broke up but decided to remain good friends and colleagues.
She then thanked their supporters for their support and continuously looking over them. The next day, Dawn released his official statement about the split and revealed his plans to take legal action against people spreading false information about them.
The fake post made it look like Dawn left a comment, saying his former girlfriend had hidden her past from him and secretly met other men while they were still together, using his own Instagram. The malicious post also alleged that she was hiding a child, who she allegedly had when she had a short romance in high school, and also had an abortion.
Dawn cleared that he didn't write the disparaging post and revealed he would take legal action against the "cowardly, dirty, and pitiful" person behind it. He continued that even if he and HyunA had broken up, she would remain precious to him, "more sincere and cool" than anyone else he had met.
Dawn even stressed that he would continue to love her most. "Please don't live like this and use your precious time in a good place," he wrote.
HyunA and Dawn started dating in 2016 but didn't make their relationship public until 2018. They initially denied the rumors that they were already in a relationship back then but eventually confirmed the news when Yonhap News reported that they personally revealed they were already dating for two years. At the time, a source said the then-couple wanted to publicly acknowledge their romance, so they could confidently stand in front of their fans.
