Prince Harry's icy relationship with his brother, Prince William, has been a big part of his controversial memoir, "Spare." As he referenced their time together at the Royal Air Force in 2009, their tense joint interview at the time resurfaced, making fans believe their feud has started since then.

Just when many thought that Prince William and Prince Harry's feud began when Meghan Markle entered the scene, their 2009 interview hinted that it might have started seven years before the Sussexes began their relationship. The clip seemed to show the cracks in the two princes' relationship since they were young.

The resurfaced BBC interview, via Express, showed the brothers discussing their desire to serve the armed forces as they learned to fly helicopters at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire. At the time, the Prince of Wales trained to become an RAF search and rescue pilot, while the Duke of Sussex was about to become an Army helicopter pilot.

TikTok user RealRoyaltyDocs posted a part of the interview with the caption, "The beginning of Harry and William's rivalry or just sibling banter?" In his memoir, the former senior royal discussed his older brother's possible jealousy at the time, seemingly because he was allowed to go to war.

In the clip, Kate Middleton's husband said he didn't join the forces to be "molly-coddled or treated any different." He then claimed that if his younger sibling could do it, he could do it, too.

Prince William continued that as the future Armed Forces head, he should be credible to do the job he signed up for and do the best he could. "The search and rescue role is now slightly different than obviously being able to go to Afghanistan, but it's still doing an important job," he added.

In the comment, user Linda Barron noticed the future king took over the interview and repeatedly stressed that he could do what Prince Harry could and that he would be the armed forces' future leader. Another netizen, named Lay, believed it was when Meghan Markle's husband first saw that his brother "felt there was a rivalry," as his face changed as the digs kept coming.

However, others believed it was just normal behavior between two brothers. Prince Harry's relationship with Prince William was a major theme of the former's memoir.

The two lived together in Shropshire to be future pilots, albeit on different paths. Unlike Prince Harry, Prince William couldn't be deployed in Afghanistan as it was deemed too dangerous for the then-second in line to the throne to go to war.
