Jon Gries cleared the air about what really happened during the 2023 SAG Awards that seemed to annoy his "White Lotus" costar Aubrey Plaza. When the show won the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, the cast went on stage, and the 38-year-old looked visibly upset at the back.

Plaza seemed shoved at the back, mostly covered by her costars, while F. Murray Abraham delivered his speech. At one point, she even mouthed "Jesus Christ," showing her annoyance.

In an interview with Page Six, Gries admitted that the actress was being "blocked by about 15 people," so he told her to "look to the front." However, he first advised her to fix her dress as her underboob was already peeking out of her revealing Michael Kors outfit.

From there, she uttered "Jesus Christ," which the 65-year-old described as just her "being funny." He believed what she was intimating at the time was why it would be a problem if her nipple showed up.

"That's her humor-She has that dry, dead-pan wit; that's her biting wit," Gries explained. He then shut down the claims that Plaza was mad for not having a chance to talk at the podium after they received the award, clearing the cast already knew that Abraham would speak on their behalf.

The actor continued that they all wanted Abraham to speak, considering he's an acclaimed and veteran star. "He's a frigging legend," Gries continued.

He even added that he texted Plaza Monday morning to confirm if she was really upset after their exchange and her reaction went viral. So, what was the "Park and Recreation" alum's answer? "No, not at all."

Plaza even told Gries that he had saved her from a wardrobe malfunction. To further prove that there was no conflict between them, he revealed that the cast all partied together at Chateau Marmont until 1:30 a.m. after the award's night.

For starters' Plaza got everyone's attention for her demeanor onstage as the "White Lotus" cast collected their award after beating the likes of "Better Call Saul," "The Crown," "Ozark," and "Severance."

The "Emily the Criminal" star looked annoyed the entire time. Though some people believed she was just being her comical self, staging the act with her well-known personality, others thought she was angry after Gries held onto her arm and whispered something in her ear that prompted her to readjust her cutout dress.

This scene might have thrown her off and left her feeling uncomfortable. Plaza was also nearly elbowed in the face when Meghan Faghy hugged Michael Imperioli, not noticing her at the back, and she mouthed "Jesus Christ" afterward.
