YG Entertainment has released an official statement in response to rumors accusing BLACKPINK Rosé of drug use at a party.

BLACKPINK Rosé's Alleged Drug Use: Photo Sparks Controversy

On April 12, BLACKPINK Rosé's name became a trending topic on Chinese entertainment and media platforms after reports emerged claiming she used drugs at a party with friends. Previously, a former creative director for a brand posted a photo of himself at a party with friends, including Rosé and actor Kang Dongwon.

Chinese netizens questioned Rosé's alleged drug use, pointing to a black and white ashtray on the table. The unverified rumors quickly spread on Chinese social media platforms and eventually reached Korean and international audiences.

Some individuals were quick to denounce Rosé, while her fans, particularly BLINKs (the group's fandom), vehemently defended her. They argued that the supposed ashtray was actually a table decoration, which appeared distorted due to poor lighting.

Fans maintained that Rosé was innocent and in good health, urging accusers to stop spreading false allegations.

YG Entertainment Responds to BLACKPINK Rosé's Drug Use Allegations

After remaining silent for about a day, YG Entertainment issued an official statement regarding the rumors surrounding BLACKPINK Rosé's alleged drug use.

On April 13, the agency denied the accusations, stating:

"The rumors related to BLACKPINK Rosé which are spreading in some online communities and SNS are clearly false."

Furthermore, YG Entertainment expressed its determination to protect its artists by taking strong legal action against those responsible for defaming them.

"We are taking legal measures against acts that violate the human rights of our artists and undermine their honor. We are currently monitoring rumors generation and dissemination. We will respond strongly without any leniency or agreement in the future."

Despite the scandal, Rosé has remained silent and continues to participate in BLACKPINK's extensive world tour, "BORN PINK." Recently, the global girl group completed a concert in Japan at the Tokyo Dome on April 8 and 9.

This marked the group's first performance in Tokyo in approximately three years and four months since their 2019 world tour, "IN YOUR AREA." BLACKPINK's concert in Japan was a sell-out, attracting a total of 110,000 attendees over two days.
