The K-Pop world was struck with tragic news when Fantagio Group announced the unexpected passing of one of its artists, Moonbin, via social media.

"We would like to express our apology for delivering deeply sad and heartbreaking news," the label's statement read. "On April 19, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky."

Reports indicate that Moonbin's manager discovered him in his Gangnam-gu, Seoul home, and authorities were subsequently called to the scene. The specific cause of the K-Pop idol's death remains unclear at this time, but South Gangnam police are considering the possibility that he took his own life.

"It appears that Moonbin took his own life," a spokesperson stated. "We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death."

Fantagio Group has requested that fans and the public "please refrain from speculative or malicious reports."

Moonbin was born in Cheongju, Chungbuk Province, and had a younger sister, Moon Sua, who is also a K-Pop idol. He was part of the K-Pop boy group ASTRO, which debuted in 2016 and recently renewed their contracts, except for Rocky. The group also included Cha Eun Woo, Yoon San Ha, MJ, Rocky, and leader Jinjin.

Before becoming a K-Pop idol, Moonbin started his career as a model and actor. He first gained public attention as a child model in 2004 and later appeared in TVXQ's music video for "Balloons" in 2006. His acting debut came in 2009 with the popular Korean drama series "Boys Over Flowers." He later starred in the 2019 drama series "At Eighteen" and the 2020 series "The Mermaid Prince."

Moonbin's sudden passing has left fans in shock and grief, with many expressing their condolences and paying tribute to the beloved K-Pop idol on social media.

"To whoever you are reading this, let's stay alive for a long time. Someday, the best life will welcome you with pleasure. Also, please be kind. Sending my deepest condolences to Aroha and to his family and friends. Rest in love, Moonbin," wrote one K-Pop fan.

"I am completely taken aback right now. Moonbin and the word 'dead' in one sentence- I refuse to believe it. I just hope he knew he was and is loved by so many. My condolences to his family (especially Sua), Astro, and any other fan out there hurting like I'm hurting. RIP angel," another fan added.
