The health condition of world-renowned singer Celine Dion appears to be taking a serious turn as she abruptly cancels her concert tour due to deteriorating health.
According to multiple reports including Page Six on May 27 (Beijing Time), pop star Celine Dion (55) announced the cancellation of her world tour concerts as her health worsens amidst battling an incurable disease.
Celine Dion expressed, "I am truly sorry to disappoint you once again. I've been working hard to recover my stamina, but even if I recharge to 100%, the world tour will be quite strenuous."
She continued, "Postponing the performances does not seem fair. As painful as it is, canceling everything for now until I'm ready to return to the stage is the best option. I ask for your understanding. I won't give up until the end. I want to see you all again."
Celine Dion originally had a total of 42 European tours scheduled in countries such as the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, and the UK, all of which have now been canceled.
Previously, in December last year, Celine Dion revealed she was battling Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder, which also resulted in postponement of her concerts.
At the time, she admitted, "I've been dealing with health problems for a while and it hasn't been easy to handle. I've been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called Stiff-Person Syndrome. I now realize that this was the cause of the spasms and stiffness I've been experiencing."
Stiff-Person Syndrome, which Dion is suffering from, is a rare disease occurring in approximately one in a million people. It leads to muscle stiffness and spasms, with severe cases involving central muscle penetration, rendering movement impossible.
Meanwhile, Celine Dion became a widow in January 2018 after the death of her husband, René Angélil. They share three children: René-Charles, born in 2001, and twins Nelson and Eddy, born in 2010.
