Italian football teams are locked in an intense bidding war over Sassuolo's star midfielder, 23-year-old Davide Frattesi. The €40 million ($45 million) price tag, set by Sassuolo's executive Giovanni Carnevali, hasn't deterred Serie A giants Roma, Inter, Juventus, and Milan from vying for the player.

In an interaction with Rai Gr Parlamento, Carnevali maintained, "We are open to negotiations from any interested club, provided they meet our €40 million valuation of Frattesi. Despite Inter leading the race, they are still evaluating their options, and we have received alternative propositions as well."

Inter Milan continues to maintain its pole position in securing Frattesi, although AC Milan is attempting to bridge the gap. The potential transfer, however, hinges on Inter's Marcelo Brozovic making a move to Al-Nassr. Meanwhile, Frattesi is also reportedly considering waiting to see if Barcelona comes in with a bid, as per insights provided by Alfredo Pedullà.

Carnevali recently excluded AC Milan from the competition due to their lack of formal contact, but this is likely to change. A key meeting involving the clubs is slated for later this week. Although neither Inter nor AC Milan have reached Sassuolo's €40m asking price, both are believed to be offering around €30-32 million plus a young striker.

Carnevali noted, "Samuele Mulattieri and Lorenzo Colombo are both favored by our side. It's plausible we may acquire either, irrespective of the Frattesi deal."

AC Milan has reportedly targeted Daniel Maldini and Lorenzo Colombo to form part of a potential deal with Sassuolo. The plan is to lessen the financial burden of acquiring Frattesi. Milan's interest in securing a player of Frattesi's stature has been amplified after Sandro Tonali's expected move to Newcastle.

While Frattesi could be a strategic fit for Inter, AC Milan's likely sale of Tonali to Newcastle may give them the financial edge and hasten the transaction.

In this game of football chess, Juventus and Roma are lagging behind the Milanese giants in the race to sign Frattesi. Meanwhile, the player has indicated that he would consider an offer from any team that meets the requirements of both him and Sassuolo.

With a bustling week ahead, it remains to be seen who will successfully close the €40 million deal and secure the promising midfielder's services.
