Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, took to social media on Monday to commemorate the third wedding anniversary of her elder daughter, Princess Beatrice, expressing her joy over her daughter's idyllic family life.
Through her Instagram post, the Duchess expressed her warmth and delight for her daughter and son-in-law, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. She described the couple as "wonderful parents" to her grandkids, while she rejoiced in their unconditional love.
"Your love knows no bounds," she penned, adding, "Beatrice, as your mother, my heart is filled with warmth, and I am at peace knowing you have found your happily ever after." Accompanying the sweet message, the Duchess shared a photograph from the couple's July 2020 wedding, captured by renowned photographer Benjamin Wheeler. The intimate shot features a glowing Beatrice, alongside her husband, absorbed in a tender moment.
The radiant Princess, 34, donned a vintage gown by designer Norman Hartnell, borrowed from the late Queen Elizabeth II. Meanwhile, the 39-year-old Mozzi was an epitome of sophistication in his three-piece suit, embellished with a singular white boutonniere.
Royal enthusiasts flooded the Duchess's post with heartfelt comments. Some lauded the couple's wedding as the "most beautiful" amongst the royals, while others compared Beatrice's real-life journey to a "better than fairytale" existence.
Mozzi, too, expressed his love for his wife on the occasion through an Instagram post. His heartfelt message read, "Happy wedding anniversary to the most beautiful wife in the world. I am so grateful for every moment we have shared, every challenge we have overcome, and every dream we have pursued together. I love you more than words can say, and I can't wait to celebrate many more anniversaries with you. Xx."
The couple had a notably private and intimate wedding, unlike Princess Beatrice's sister, Princess Eugenie, who had a grand wedding at St. George's Chapel. Their ceremony, held at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge on the Windsor Great Park grounds, was kept under wraps.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, their ceremony was scaled down, abiding by the necessary social distancing protocols. The gathering included close family members, such as their grandparents, Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II. It can be safely assumed that her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, were also present.
Their nuptials, originally set for May 2020 in London with a reception in Buckingham Palace gardens, had to be postponed due to the pandemic. Mozzi had proposed to Princess Beatrice in September 2019 during a trip to Italy. Despite the change in plans, the couple's special day remains a beautiful testament to their love story.
