On September 4, NVIDIA's founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, met with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the nation's capital, New Delhi.

According to a tweet posted by Modi on the social platform "X," he had a "very pleasant meeting" with Huang. The two discussed the vast potential India offers in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Modi emphasized India's immense potential in this domain, and Huang expressed his admiration for India's achievements in AI, particularly highlighting the talent of the country's younger generation.

In a press release issued by NVIDIA on the same day, the company noted that this event marked the second meeting between Modi and Huang, underscoring NVIDIA's role in India's rapidly growing tech industry.

Huang also met with dozens of researchers from institutions like the Indian Institute of Science and the Indian Institutes of Technology, sharing a dinner with them. The attendees represented top talents in various fields, including large language models, astrophysics, medicine, quantum computing, and natural language processing. NVIDIA shared that the evening's discussions touched on various topics, such as using technology to overcome language barriers, boosting agricultural yields, bridging healthcare service gaps, transitioning to a digital economy, and addressing significant scientific challenges of the present.

NVIDIA also highlighted India's recent advancements in space exploration and its expanding technological capabilities. The two parties are exploring potential collaborations. On August 23rd, India's third lunar mission, "Chandrayaan-3," successfully landed on the moon's south pole, becoming the first global probe to do so. On September 2nd, India's first solar probe, "Aditya-L1," was launched.

NVIDIA's press release further elaborated on its deep ties with India. The tech giant began its operations in Bangalore as early as 2004. Currently, NVIDIA has four engineering research and development centers in India, employing over 3,800 staff members. Additionally, the number of Indian developers in NVIDIA's Developer Program has surpassed 320,000. The company's CUDA platform sees over 40,000 downloads per month in India, with more than 60,000 CUDA developers in the country.
