In a recent turn of events, Liverpool's left-back, Andy Robertson, faced an injury during Scotland's match against Spain, adding to the concerns of Liverpool's manager, Jurgen Klopp.

Andy Robertson, who also captains the Scottish national team, had to leave the field in the 44th minute during Scotland's 2-0 defeat to Spain in the European Championship qualifiers. The match, which took place at Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, saw Spain's álvaro Morata and Oihan Sancet finding the net. Robertson's injury occurred after a collision with Spain's goalkeeper, Unai Simon. The aftermath of the collision saw Robertson leaving the field with his arm in a makeshift sling, and Nathan Patterson replaced him.

This injury is not just a concern for Scotland but also for Liverpool. As of now, there hasn't been an official statement from Liverpool regarding the extent of Robertson's injury. However, Scotland's head coach, Steve Clarke, indicated that Robertson might not be playing in the upcoming match against France at Stade Pierre-Mauroy on October 17. Clarke commented, "We'll have a look and he'll go back to his club now. It always seems to happen when you lose one player in a position. We lose Kieran [Tierney] then Andy picks up a shoulder injury. We'll see how it is and how it settles down. Hopefully, he's good for his club as soon as possible and ready to help us in November."

Scotland's hopes for qualifying for Euro 2024 took a hit with this loss. They needed at least a draw in Seville to secure their qualification. Now, their qualification depends on the outcome of the match between Norway and Spain. If Norway doesn't secure a win against Spain, Scotland will qualify. Otherwise, Scotland will have two more opportunities to qualify next month.

For Liverpool, this injury comes at a crucial time. They are scheduled to play against Everton in the Merseyside derby after the international break on October 21. Given Robertson's injury, it seems unlikely that he will be part of the squad for the match at Anfield. Klopp, who is already managing a few injuries in the Liverpool team, will be hoping that Robertson's injury isn't severe.

Robertson's injury adds to Liverpool's growing list of injured players, which includes Cody Gakpo (knee), Thiago Alcantara (hip), and Stefan Bajcetic (calf). Robertson has been a consistent player for Liverpool, having started every Premier League game for them this season. He was also on the bench during their two Europa League victories.

If Robertson is confirmed to be out due to the injury, Liverpool has Kostas Tsimikas as a potential replacement. Tsimikas recently signed a long-term contract extension with Liverpool. As of now, Liverpool stands fourth in the 2023-24 Premier League table. With five wins, two draws, and a loss, they have accumulated 17 points. They are just one point behind Manchester City and three points behind the leaders, Tottenham Hotspur.
