Jungkook, a member of the pop sensation BTS, has taken the American NBC hit talk show 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' by storm.
Appearing on 'The Tonight Show' on the 7th (Korean time), Jungkook showed off his fluent English during an interview and performed the title track 'Standing Next to You' from his solo album 'GOLDEN', eliciting a hot response from global fans. This marks the first time 'Standing Next to You' was performed on an American network TV program.
Host Jimmy Fallon highlighted Jungkook's global pop star trajectory, spotlighting the artist's recent achievements including his solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' breaking Spotify's record for the fastest billion streams, and securing a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
When asked if he anticipated such success, Jungkook responded, "I had confidence, but honestly, I never imagined it would go this far. I'm really thankful to our ARMY fans. I think these achievements would not have been possible without them."
On the subject of his album's title 'GOLDEN', Jungkook explained, "The concept of 'gold' is strongly connected to me. All the time I've walked through until now feels golden, so when considering the album's name, 'GOLDEN' was the only thing that came to mind." Jungkook crowned his appearance with a performance of the new title track 'Standing Next to You'. As golden lights reminiscent of the official music video's tunnel set illuminated the stage, the atmosphere at the venue heated up intensely.
Captivating the audience with a performance that utilized a standing microphone, Jungkook's elaborate stage presence and perfect synergy with the dancers enthralled the fans. Despite the powerful choreography, his unwavering live vocals showcased the pinnacle of a 'complete performance'.
Meanwhile, Jungkook is slated to appear on the 'CitiConcert Series' of NBC's leading morning show 'TODAY' on the 8th, where he is expected to perform a solo outdoor concert at TODAY Plaza.
