BTS Jin's solo track 'The Astronaut' has surpassed 300 million streams on the world's largest music platform, Spotify. The song achieved this milestone on December 6th.

Celebrating his birthday on December 4th, Jin marked the occasion with 'The Astronaut' music video reaching 100 million views. Just two days after his birthday, he also experienced the joy of surpassing 300 million music streams.

Jin's first solo single 'The Astronaut,' released on October 28th last year, reached 100 million streams on Spotify in just 72 days, setting the record for the fastest time by a Korean male K-pop solo song at that time. The song then continued to break records, reaching 50 million streams in 22 days, 60 million in 29 days, 70 million in 37 days, and 90 million in 57 days.

Upon its release, Jin's solo track made its debut on Spotify's 'Global Top Artist' and 'Top Artist in Japan' charts, setting a record for the highest debut by a Korean solo artist.

The official music video for 'The Astronaut,' which also features Jin's birthday, surpassed 100 million views on December 4th, making it his second solo song music video to achieve this milestone after 'Epiphany.' Additionally, a stage video with Coldplay in Argentina has surpassed 26.18 million views, continuing his popularity even while serving as a special warrior in the military.

'Astronaut' is Jin's first solo single released about two months before his military enlistment. He co-composed and wrote the lyrics with the world-renowned band Coldplay. The music video, depicting Jin as an astronaut who crash-lands on Earth, captivated viewers with his nuanced and expressive acting. Its mysterious and stylish sound and visuals evoked the feel of a sci-fi movie, generating significant buzz.

Upon its release, the music video for 'The Astronaut' garnered explosive reactions, achieving first place on 'YouTube Music Trending Worldwide' for 17 consecutive days - a first and longest record for K-pop. It reached 1 million views in 15 minutes, 10 million in 12 hours and 30 minutes, and 30 million in just 4 days.

The video also demonstrated overwhelming popularity by achieving 1 million likes in just 1 hour and 4 minutes and 3 million in 13 hours. As of December 10th, it has reached over 5.49 million likes. Despite being a year old and Jin currently serving as an army instructor, the video continues to rank high in popular music video charts, shining as an enduring superstar.

Spotify reports that Jin's 'The Astronaut' was listed on 'Best K-POP Songs of 2023.' Despite being released in 2022, it secured a spot in the TOP 10 among 2023 releases due to high streaming numbers. It also ranked 16th among the most streamed K-pop solo artist songs on Spotify, continuing to be recognized as a beloved artist and song.

'The Astronaut's' popularity has never waned and continues to sweep radio charts in South America. Recently, the song held the first place for 58 weeks on Argentina's 'Vega Radio' in their 'KPOP TOP40 Ranking,' with over 100,000 votes, continuing its unparalleled record.

Vega Radio commented, "We would like to explain why Jin's 'The Astronaut,' nearing its one-year anniversary, is still number one on KPOP TOP40. We at Vega Radio believe that 'The Astronaut' transcends the K-pop genre as a musical phenomenon. This track, co-created with the iconic group Coldplay, is a fantastic work reminiscent of 80s pop, rock, and synth-wave culture. These elements ensure the song's enduring appeal and popularity among music fans of all ages."

Meanwhile, Jin enlisted in the army last December and is currently serving commendably as an instructor at the Army's 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, having been promoted early twice, recently to the rank of Sergeant.

Even without Jin, his birthday this year saw record-breaking global support, with seven video ads displayed in New York Times Square, the Namsan Tower turning into 'Jin Tower' for the first time for a celebrity, and over 600 global birthday projects celebrating the superstar's enduring brand power.
