Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, reportedly made scathing remarks about Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, as revealed in journalist Ryan Grim's new book, "The Squad: AOC and the Hope of a Political Revolution."

According to Grim, Bill Clinton lamented the unsuccessful nature of the campaign, alleging it was incapable of effectively selling its message, even going as far as to say it "could not sell p---- on a troop train."

The book suggests that Bill Clinton was critical of the campaign's overemphasis on identity politics and its strategy against Bernie Sanders, an independent rival. Grim wrote that this approach possibly alienated moderate voters and pushed them towards Sanders. The former president's comments have surfaced as Hillary Clinton is gearing up to support President Joe Biden's 2024 re-election bid.

Hillary Clinton, who won the Democratic primary but lost the general election to Donald Trump, has publicly acknowledged that her campaign was not perfect. She attributed her defeat to a mix of factors, including misogyny, alleged Russian interference, and then-FBI Director James Comey's actions.

In a 2017 interview, she stated, "I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey's letter on October 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me but got scared off." She further added that had the election been held a day earlier, she believed she would have won.

Moreover, Hillary Clinton suggested that misogyny played a significant role in her election loss, pointing out that it is a pervasive issue in political, social, and economic landscapes. Recently, she has been actively involved in President Biden's campaign, hosting a fundraiser at her Washington, DC, home and is expected to play a more prominent role in the coming year.

Bill Clinton's alleged private criticisms of Hillary's campaign, as detailed in Grim's book, reflect a candid and critical view of the campaign's strategies and execution. These revelations come at a time when Hillary Clinton is stepping back into the political arena, indicating a continued influence and presence in national politics.
