Shocking lyrics in a new song have fueled speculation that Taylor Swift has found sanctuary from her fishbowl life at the bottom of an alcohol bottle, a new report claimed.

The American pop superstar refers to herself as a "functioning alcoholic" in “Fortnight,” a single from her hit album “The Tortured Poets Department,” causing surprised fans to fear she may require professional aid to combat demon spirits.

“I was supposed to be sent away/But they forgot to come and get me. I was a functioning alcoholic ’til nobody noticed my new aesthetic/I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary/And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” Taylor sang in the track.

While Taylor claims she never drinks before a performance, the “All Too Well” hitmaker is frequently spotted with a glass in hand while out socializing. She was reportedly tipsy at the televised Grammy Awards in February and completely bewildered while visiting April's Coachella music festival with her party-loving pigskin boyfriend Travis Kelce, also 34.

“Taylor has had an amazingly strong work ethic ever since she was a teenager trying to break big in the music world. But more and more, she’s going toward a ‘I work hard, so I get to play hard’ mantra that you feel she uses to numb the noise in her chaotic life. It’s a slippery slope, and it would be a tragedy if drinking gets the best of her and tears down what she’s worked so hard to build,” an unnamed insider told The National Enquirer.

Taylor made another unusual confession on stage during her Eras tour, describing herself as "a lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair drinking my weight in white wine." Now that the “Blank Space” songstress is on hiatus from her tour until a May 24 engagement in Portugal, friends are allegedly pushing her to take a vacation from alcohol before she returns.

“Taylor is too smart not to know that having fun and blowing off steam by drinking can become a crutch before you know it. But this woman is under a microscope 24/7 and it drives her to drink. It affects her behavior and ultimately pushes her down at a time when she is having her greatest career triumphs. It’s at the point where she should be taking a hard look at getting professional help to bring her life back into balance,” another informant told the entertainment news outlet.

Meanwhile, Taylor dominates the entire top ten of the Hot 100 this week. She is still the only performer to have accomplished this feat in the chart's history, and this is her second appearance at the top.

With 10 additional top 10s, she now has 59 smashes that have landed somewhere in that tier. Taylor extends her lead as the female artist with the most wins in the competitive region with this latest string of instant successes, Forbes reported.

Madonna is second on the list of women with the most top 10 hits on the Hot 100. Throughout her career, she has 38 such smashes. For many years, that was the all-time record for all artists, but as time passed, more contemporary stars surpassed her total.

Taylor recently sat behind Madonna. Over the last five years, she's had over 20 new top ten songs. She reached number ten with her 2022 album “Midnights,” becoming the first artist to hold the whole top ten at once.

Travis Kelce’s ladylove has now gone on to have two more Hot 100 No. 1s. Taylor’s 2019 single "Cruel Summer" made a surprising appearance at the top of the charts years after its release. The lead track from her 1989 re-release, "Is It Over Now? "(Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)" debuted at number one in 2023, adding to her total.
