Britney Spears is finally returning to work, according to a new report. The "Toxic" singer supposedly discreetly signed with global talent agency CAA, and friends say she's never looking back.

“Britney’s ready to move on, and this deal is just what she needs. This will put her back on the talent show panels like 'The Voice,' but also back in the studio. She’s got a couple of terabytes of music she’s been working on that she wants to develop into fresh material,” an unnamed pal told Woman’s Day Australia.

“She’s not ready for a full-blown tour yet but that’s the goal. Watching Taylor Swift and Madonna get out there on the road has definitely inspired her,” the source went on.

Charli XCX has confirmed prior allegations that she had been writing songs for a potential new Britney Spears album. The “Lucky” singer had previously dismissed allegations on social media.

However, the English singer-songwriter admitted in a recent episode of “Watch What Happens Live” that she had no idea how involved Britney was in the process.

“Um, so. Well, yes, but, it leaked to the press. Britney then did this post where she was like, ‘I don’t have random people write for me.’ I was like, okay, go off! So I don’t know that she was part of the process,” Charli XCX retorted to caller’s question.

Previously, in January, Britney took to Instagram to set the record straight. "They keep saying I'm turning to random people to do a new album …I will never return to the music industry!!!” she said.

Later on the broadcast, anchor Andy Cohen suggested that maybe her team was looking for something else. “Her team was running before they could walk. Britney probably has a load of other projects that she’s focusing on. So I did get asked but I don’t know if it’s like, real,” Charli XCX continued.

Andy also asked whether the "Boom Clap" singer wrote any songs in the hopes that Britney would record them.

“Of course. I went to Malibu and I wrote. You always write songs hoping Britney’s going to record them … but you know, she didn’t record it. … I love her. It would be a dream come true,” Charli XCX said.
