More than two months after Princess Kate underwent a secret stomach surgery, a photo of her with her children was released that appeared to have been doctored, raising concerns about her health. Princess Kate put an end to speculation on March 22 when she announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and had begun chemotherapy following surgery.
As the world rallied around her, heartfelt messages came into Kensington Palace, including one from estranged in-laws Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. "We wish health and healing for Kate and her family. and hope they can do so privately and peacefully,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement.
“Everyone assumes Kate doesn’t like Harry, but they have a special bond that not many people really understand. She and Harry were extremely close at one time. She’s confided in him during some of her darkest moments, and now that includes her cancer battle,” an unnamed source told Life & Style Magazine.
The insider claimed that Princess Kate has leaned on Prince Harry for support amid her cancer battle. “Meghan was blindsided and felt, maybe, a bit betrayed at first,” the informant stated.
However, the gravity of Princess Kate's prognosis has allegedly allowed Meghan to put aside, at least for the time being, the mutual animosity and disappointment the Waleses and Sussexes have felt for one another in recent years.
The tipster added that Meghan admits that she wasn't present when Princess Kate and Prince Harry first became friends over two decades ago. Meghan, 42, is aware that Prince Harry, 39, used to respect and admire Princess Kate before their relationship deteriorated.
For starters, the Duke of Sussex’s memoir “Spare” laid bare Prince Harry and Prince William’s strained relationship as brothers and included accusations of the royal family having racial bias in their treatment of Meghan, as per CNN.
Make no mistake, Prince William, 41, allegedly continues to have trust issues with Prince Harry, according to the source, but he and Kate have never faced anything like this — on top of her cancer, King Charles III, 75, has also been in treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer since February — so if Kate thinks talking to Harry will help her deal with the situation, Prince William will not interfere.
Those who know the sons of King Charles and Princess Diana recognize that Prince Harry and Prince William are different persons.
“While Kate loves William and she does confide in her husband, it’s easier to talk about certain things with Harry. He’s always been a good listener,” the mole stated.
Princess Kate's once-close connection with Prince Harry has become collateral damage in his escalating dispute with Prince William, which the Duke of Sussex claims began while they were still boys grieving the death of their mother, Princess Diana. When Meghan entered the picture, tensions escalated, Cosmopolitan reported.
In his memoir, Prince Harry described a few clashes with Princess Kate, claiming she made Meghan cry before their wedding over the fit of daughter Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress and overreacted when Meghan made a lighthearted remark about Princess Kate having "baby brain" after son Prince Louis was born in 2018.
However, Prince Harry also made his deep affection for Princess Kate clear. “I loved my new sister-in-law, I felt she was more sister than in-law, the sister I’d never had and always wanted, and I was pleased that she’d forever be standing by Willy’s side,” the Duke of Sussex penned when Prince William married her.
In many respects, Princess Kate and Meghan were drawn into the turmoil that was developing between their husbands. “There were many incidents, before and after Meghan came into the picture, where Kate played peacemaker for the brothers,” the snitch, who believes that and the recent calls are a sign there’s still hope for a royal reunion between the two pairs, noted.
Though Meghan was supposed to stay at home in California, Prince Harry's journey to London on May 8 for a service commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, the athletic competition he founded for injured troops, could have served as a practice run. Unfortunately, there was no public intention for senior royals to attend.
The source stated that while Harry hopes his chats with Kate may signify a bigger thaw, he is not anticipating anything more for the time being. “Harry, William, Kate and Meghan haven’t put the past behind them just yet. For the first time in a long time, though, there’s promise,” the insider added.
