In Santa Monica on May 19, just a few hours after Jennifer Garner and her ex-husband Ben Affleck had gotten together for Samuel's basketball game, the “Family Switch” actress, who is 52 years old, saw her ex-husband once again.
This time, however, their three children, Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, were nowhere to be found when Jen arrived at the house in Brentwood that costs $100,000 per month. Ben, 51, has apparently been sleeping there in the midst of relationship problems with his spouse Jennifer Lopez.
The 54-year-old “On the Floor” hitmaker is allegedly all too familiar with this particular scene.
“Everyone knows that Ben and Jen remained very close after their divorce. He confides in Jen about everything, even his issues with J. Lo. J. Lo hates that Ben goes back to his sensible, down-to-earth ex-wife for advice and emotional support. She doesn’t want Jen’s input,” an unnamed source told In Touch.
The songstress who is known for her song "Papi" has also not been silent about her disapproval.
“J. Lo didn’t come right out and tell Jen to back off — both women have been down this road before and know their boundaries — but she did tell Ben that his ex needs to stay away from him and butt out of their personal drama. Ben then relayed the message to Jen,” the informant went on.
During the early 2000s, the "Argo" star and Jennifer fell in love for the first time. However, they ended their relationship in 2004, in part due to the enormous media scrutiny that was placed on their relationship.
Ben and Jennifer reunited with one another in 2022 and decided to get married later on. Ben, who has been rather low-key, has returned to the limelight, where he has been allegedly seen uncomfortable at the "Let's Get Loud" singer's side. This, according to reports, has resulted in many of their previous problems getting back to the surface.
Despite Jennifer Garner and Ben ending their marriage nearly a decade ago, in 2015, she still hates to see him suffering.
“Jen would never tell Ben, ‘I told you it wouldn’t work out,’ but she does blame J. Lo for the pressure she’s put Ben under. She sees how Ben struggles with keeping up with J. Lo’s very public lifestyle,” the insider said.
And although Jennifer initially made an effort to avoid getting involved in the marital problems that her ex-husband was experiencing, a mole said that she is concerned about Ben's potential to relapse into dangerous behaviors such as substance misuse and gambling, as he has done in the past. It is Jen's opinion, according to PEOPLE, that Ben's health and happiness are more essential than Jennifer's feelings regarding his conversation with her.
“Jen can’t stand by and do nothing. That’s not in her nature. She has dropped everything to make sure Ben doesn’t spiral out of control again. At the end of the day, Ben is still the father of their children, and she will help him however she can,” the tipster shared.
