A couple of prominent and powerful members of the Democratic party recently disclosed a memo that was leaked and detailed a plan to replace President Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket for the 2024 election, a new report claimed.

Rosa Brooks, a law professor at Georgetown University, and Ted Dintersmith, a startup capitalist, came up with the ideas for the plan, which advocated a novel method for picking a new party nominee, as per RadarOnline. This comes at a time when President Biden is facing calls to resign down as a result of his dismal performance in the debates that took place in Atlanta last month.

According to the document, President Joe Biden would retire from his position as the Democratic contender by the middle of July. This would result in the beginning of a "blitz primary" in which possible candidates, such as celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Oprah Winfrey, would be able to enter the race.

It has been rumored that during the "blitz primary," candidates would also be showcased in weekly forums that would be conducted by prominent members of the party, such as Michelle Obama, Taylor Swift, and Oprah.

After that, a ranked-choice voting mechanism would be utilized by delegates in order to determine the nominee prior to the Democratic National Convention, which would take place in Chicago on August 19.

As an additional suggestion, Rosa and Ted argued that the ultimate nominee ought to be presented on stage at the Democratic National Convention the following month, alongside President Biden, former President Barack Obama, and former President Bill Clinton.

“We can limp to shameful, avoidable democracy-ending defeat. Or Democrats can make this Our Finest Hour. While we hope for help from Lord Almighty, the Lord helps those who help themselves. We need to act. Now,” the leaked memo read.

However, in spite of the comprehensive plan, President Biden has not demonstrated any readiness to stand down from his position, The Washington Post reported, and there are fewer than four months left until the general election on November 5.

Further complicating the situation inside the party was the fact that the proposal did not ensure that Vice President Kamala Harris would be automatically nominated for the position.

Rosa apparently received positive feedback on the memo, which further suggests that major party officials may accept the plan if it was officially backed by President Biden. This is in contrast to the fact that several Democrats have openly and privately asked for Biden to withdraw from the race.

Additionally, President Biden has continued his activities for the re-election campaign in 2024, despite the rising pressure that has been placed on him. Additionally, he has continued to interact with voters and has made a number of public appearances in spite of the growing number of calls for him to step down.

“Will it happen? Probably not, absent a timely decision by Party leaders, including President Biden, who truly put country first. Yes, President Biden has served his country with distinction for five decades. Yes, this honorable man deserves our respect, gratitude and admiration. But not our blind loyalty. America desperately wants an uplifting choice,” the memo read.
