Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, one of Hollywood's most high-profile couples, are reportedly no longer trying to save their marriage. Despite their separation, the couple has no immediate plans to make a public announcement, according to insiders familiar with the situation.
"They are not getting back together," a source close to the couple stated (via Fox News). "They have no plans to announce that they aren't a couple right now. J.Lo wanted to make it work really badly, but he's just a different person to her now. They're not trying to work it out."
The couple, who married in a lavish ceremony in July 2022, spent their second wedding anniversary apart. Lopez, 54, was seen relaxing in the Hamptons, while Affleck, 51, remained in California, busy with his professional commitments. This physical separation has fueled rumors about the state of their relationship.
Despite Affleck's absence during the anniversary, his eldest daughter, Violet Affleck, was seen spending time with Lopez on the East Coast. "Violet and all the kids have remained close to J.Lo, which is why Violet is in the Hamptons with J.Lo," the insider added.
Lopez has made significant efforts to integrate into Affleck's family, aiming to be a supportive figure for his children. "J.Lo wants to be there for Ben's kids. She's changed her life and made it more about the children. She thought she'd be doing this with Ben, and she's not. Ben's kids really do like J.Lo, and they loved seeing their dad so happy with J.Lo," the source continued.
Signs of trouble were apparent in Lopez's documentary, "The Greatest Love Story Never Told," where Affleck expressed discomfort with Lopez's public sharing of their private moments through her songs. "Jen was really inspired by this experience, which is how artists do their work. They get inspired by their personal life, it moves you. I know as a writer and director I certainly do the same things," he explained. "But things that are private I had always felt are sacred and special, in part because they're private. So, this was something of an adjustment for me," Affleck admitted.
