Meghan Markle's life underwent a major transformation upon her encounter with Prince Harry. Her regal love story—followed by her engagement—necessitated her departure from her playing role on “Suits,” abandonment of her public social media presence, and closure of her lifestyle blog, “The Tig.”
However, Meghan provided a captivating response when questioned about those alterations during her initial interview with Prince Harry. After the duke’s proposal, the couple had an interview with the BBC. Interviewer Mishal Husain was interested in knowing Meghan's thoughts on giving up her acting career, as per The Mirror.
"I don't see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change," Meghan replied, as Prince Harry added, "it's a new challenge.” "It's a new chapter. Right. And also keep in mind I have been working on my show for seven years,” the Duchess of Sussex went on.
"So we're very, very fortunate to be able to have that sort of longevity on a series and for me, once we hit the 100 episode marker I thought you know what I have I have ticked this box and I feel really proud of the work I've done there and now it's time to, as you said, work as a team with you [Harry],” Meghan added.
Mishal inquired Prince Harry about whether he harbored a sense of responsibility for the burden he was placing on Meghan. "Of course. That sense of responsibility was essentially from day one or maybe a couple of months in, when I sort of realized actually, this is you know, I feel I know that I'm in love with this girl. And I hope that she is in love with me,” the Duke of Sussex retorted.
"We still have to sit down and I still, you know, I still have to have some pretty frank conversations with her to say you know what you're letting yourself in for, it is a big thing, it's a big deal and it's you know it's not easy for anybody. But I know that at the end of the day, she chooses me and I choose her. And therefore you know whatever we have to tackle together or individually, will always be us together as a team. So I think, I think she's capable,” Prince Harry furthered.
"So nicely said, isn't it?!" Meghan joked before Prince Harry continued, "She's capable of.. she's capable of anything. And together as I said there’s a hell of a lot of stuff, work that needs doing. At the moment for us, it's going to be making sure that our relationship is always put first, but both of us have passions for wanting to make change, change for good. And you know with lots of young people running around the Commonwealth, that's where we’ll spend most of our time hopefully."
Meanwhile, royal commentator Daniela Isler, in an op-ed for News.com.au, talked about things have changed against Meghan and Prince Harry in Hollywood.
According to her, Hollywood, as it appears, can be described as "a favorable location for unpredictable individuals," using words from Somerset Maugham. The last Wimbledon event marked the end of a series of months where celebrities openly expressed their support for the British royal family.
Simultaneously, the House of Windsor's Californian branch, overseen by Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, seems to be undergoing a noticeable decline in their connection with the entertainment industry.
“The tide has turned. People in America have been welcoming but they won’t like the way they’ve treated the late Queen and now the King. Mostly, people I speak to say they either don’t like the Sussexes, or don’t care,” Daniela wrote.
