On behalf of his son Weston, Nicolas Cage is said to be going to great lengths.
In the aftermath of his eldest child's arrest on July 10 for assault with a deadly weapon, the actor was not only required to raise $220,000 for his bond, but he was also required to pay for the expenses associated with sending him to rehabilitation and hiring sobriety coaches who were available around the clock.
Weston was taken into arrest as a result of an incident that allegedly took place in the month of April. Weston has a reputation for abusing substances, and he was taken into custody for the incident that occurred. According to the information that has been provided, his mother, Christina Fulton, was the victim of physical violence during the "mental health crisis."
“Nic is more determined than ever to get him the help he needs. He is the first to admit he was something of an absent dad and Weston suffered the worst,” an unnamed source told New Idea Magazine.
Christina has expressed that she, too, is "deeply saddened" by the events that have transpired with Weston, who is 33 years old.
In addition, Weston, who is a father of four children, was deprived of custody of his two youngest children, twin girls who are four years old, in June of this year. This occurred after Weston divorced his third wife, Hila, who filed "fraudulent restraining order,” in 2021.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department could not make it clear whether the incident in issue was the altercation that took place on April 28 between Weston and his mother, Christina, at her residence in Los Angeles.
PEOPLE was informed in May by the Los Angeles Police Department that "a battery report was taken" as a consequence of an alleged altercation that took place between the mother and the boy.
Christina sent a statement to the site in which she refuted allegations that she and Weston had argued before to the confrontation. She claimed that she was attempting to comfort her son whenever he was experiencing an emotional crisis.
"On Sunday, April 28th, I was reached out to by several of Weston’s best friends for assistance because they were experiencing Weston in a mental-health crisis. I acted swiftly to ensure his safety. Upon my arrival, I was met by my son who clearly was in a state of a mental-health breakdown, which in turn became a horrific experience. I have always supported helping my son with his mental-health struggles. I am doing all I can to get him the continued support he needs,” Christina stated at the time.
Weston, who has been not shy about discussing his difficulties with substance misuse, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in 2017.
