Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are currently engaged in a fierce battle over custody of their eight dogs now that they have divorced, a new report claimed. During their “troubled” romance, Jennifer and Ben are always at odds with one another regarding who is responsible for the maintenance of their eight dogs.
The once-hot A-list pair, who married the wedding in 2022, are no longer living together, and rumors are circulating that they are getting ready to file for a divorce, which will be a devastating blow to their relationship.
Jennifer and Ben are reportedly having a difficult time figuring out the specifics of their separation, including how to divide up their cherished dogs, according to a source who comes forward with information.
“Ben has a real bond with the dogs and he’s not going to just sit back and let J.Lo take them, he wants them to share custody and thinks it’s only fair,” an unnamed source told Globe Magazine.
Jennifer already had a golden doodle named Tyson; Labradors named Lady and Bunny, boxers named Roxy and Bear, and a mastiff named Champ when she and the “Batman” heartthrob, who was 51 years old at the time, got back together in the year 2020, 18 years after they had initially broken up.
The only two animal companions that Ben brought with him were a German shepherd named Hutch and a golden retriever cross that he had adopted in the year 2015, Marca previously reported.
Tattlers said the custody issue has exploded into a war. According to those with knowledge of the situation, the custody dispute has escalated into a conflict.
“J.Lo is furious he’d even suggest they should share all their dogs, especially because she felt like he never put much effort into looking after them when they were together,” the anonymous insider said.
“She’s convinced this is just a power play on his part and all about his ego. Fact is she was the one that came into the relationship with six of the dogs and she’s not about to relinquish her rights to them, and on top of that she doesn’t want the pack to be separated. So in her view, all the pets should go with her, including their cat, Hendrix, who they adopted together,” the informant went on.
During the turbulent period of their relationship, the diva songbird and the Oscar-winning actor-director apparently fought over who was responsible for picking up the poop. Jennifer also complained that Ben did not do enough at the time.
“She’s the one that was always on top of their care and is very devoted to them. While this may sound like a whole lot of fuss over nothing to people that aren’t dog lovers, for J.Lo this is probably the most insulting demand Ben could make. Her dogs are like her children and if he doesn’t let this fight go, she will go nuclear and take it to court. For her, this is nonnegotiable,” the tipster suggested.
