Glen Powell has launched his reign as the new box-office king of Hollywood, much to the dismay of Liam Hemsworth, a new report claimed.
“This will hurt Liam, as he and Glen were rivals on the audition circuit for years,” an unnamed source New Idea Magazine.
The success of the hit film "Twisters" has Glen, who is 35 years old, riding high at the moment. Women all over the world are fawning over him at the same time because of his All-American good looks, dazzling smile, and charisma.
According to reports, Liam's career has reached a plateau, with his most recent huge box office hit being "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2," which was released in 2015.
Entertainment industry sources claimed that although Liam, who is 34 years old, has a positive impression of Glen as a person, he is "envious" of Glen's profession, which he believes was "meant to be his."
After achieving success in "Top Gun: Maverick," "Anyone But You," "Hit Man," and now "Twisters," Glen has been able to successfully build on his momentum and achieve success in each of his subsequent films. On the other hand, it would appear that Liam's options for major motion pictures have diminished.
In his next part, Liam will take over for Henry Cavill in the "The Witcher" Season 4, a fantasy series that is available on Netflix exclusively, as per Variety. The date of its release has not yet been determined.
As soon as Glen was cast in the third installment of the “Expendables” film franchise in 2014, it became immediately evident that he had the potential to surpass Liam as Hollywood's next "Brad Pitt." While Liam did star in the second installment of the franchise, he did not make an appearance in that particular picture.
“Essentially, Glen was cast in his spot. There’s no doubt Glen has picked up where Liam left off. He could even eclipse Liam’s brother Chris one day. With another ‘Top Gun’ movie in the works, as well as a remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic ‘The Running Man,’ Glen’s posing a threat to Hollywood’s leading men,” an unnamed insider told the entertainment news outlet.
Glen, who is eligible for the position, has also never allowed his romantic life to interfere with his professional life. However, the same cannot be said about Liam, whose divorce from his wife Miley Cyrus in 2019 was a contentious affair that made headlines.
“There’s no doubt Liam’s work was sidelined by his drama-filled personal life. From a house fire to a divorce, no-one wanted to hire a pretty guy whose personal life would overshadow any serious piece of cinema,” the informant stated.
It appears that even his relocation to Australia has been detrimental to Liam's situation. “It’s become clear his explosive marriage and escape [back home] left Liam and his career in the Hollywood wilderness,” a tipster told the magazine.
“He’d barely be recognized at a Hollywood party these days. Meanwhile, Glen has a mailbox full of scripts, profiles in Vanity Fair and is being lauded as the man single-handedly bringing back movie heart-throbs. Of course Liam’s put out,” the mole went on.
