In the week prior to her departure to Pittsburgh to begin her studies at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University, Suri Cruise was seen in New York City sporting an unmistakable ring on that finger, a new report claimed.
As she proudly displayed the gorgeous sparkler for all to see, the daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, who is 18 years old, could not contain her enthusiasm. This led to rumors that the sparkler may have been a gift from her boyfriend, Toby Cohen.
Actress Katie from "Dawson's Creek" is reportedly concerned about her daughter's relationship progressing too quickly and too soon at such a young age. Although it is not known for certain whether the jewelry is an engagement ring or possibly even a promise ring, unnamed sources have stated that she is concerned about the situation.
“Katie, wants Suri to focus on having fun and her studies- not getting too serious about a boyfriend,” the unidentified insider told New Idea Magazine.
As a result of Katie's decision to raise her daughter as a single parent following her divorce from Tom in 2012, it should come as no surprise that she is "very protective of her only daughter."
Despite the fact that it is well-known that the former couple has not communicated much since they went their separate ways and that Suri has had very little contact with her famous father in more than a decade, Katie's anxiety for her daughter may even push her to pick up the phone and call her estranged ex-boyfriend for advice.
Those who are close to the celebrity claimed that Katie is feeling as though she may have no other option, despite the fact that this is the very last thing she would ever envision herself doing.
The undisclosed informant went on to say that Katie is aware of the fact that Suri is not rushing into a troubled relationship at such a vulnerable age, just like she did when she was swept off her feet by Tom, who played a primary role in “Mission: Impossible.”
As a result of their attendance at the LaGuardia High School prom together in June, Suri and Toby, who is 18 years old, have been linked together. Since that time, the couple has been seen out and about in New York City, where they have been seen kissing and going on dates.
On the other hand, just two weeks ago, a tipster suggested that Suri was experiencing "boy issues" after she was caught crying violently while on the phone. Katie assisted her daughter in moving into her on-campus dormitory last week, where she is reportedly studying fashion. Since then, the young couple has physically separated.
“I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy. I remember being this age, this time beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that,” Katie told Town & Country Magazine of becoming an empty-nester.
With a chuckle, she continued by saying that the people who are a part of her book club are "going to get annoyed" since they are going to hear from her so frequently. “It’ll be like, ‘Let’s meet once a week,” she said.
In the meantime, Suri will be settling down in Pennsylvania, and her great musician beau Toby will be attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, which is located nine hours away by car. “Katie wants Suri to focus on her studies and not get sidetracked by what may well end up being an on-again, off-again romance,” the mole said.
