During an interview with Fox News on August 20, Jon Voight did not hold back while discussing his daughter Angelina Jolie's difficult divorce battle with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, which stretched back for years.

“I wish that would be over [and that] they found a way to make peace,” Jon stated, adding that he’s concerned about the well-being of Angelina and Brad’s six children.

“The kids need some stability. I love the kids and I love my daughter, and I want Brad to step up, too, [and do] what he has to do [and] end this nonsense,” he added.

Despite the fact that he may have been venting the frustration of a worried parent, the fact that he was bringing his daughter's problems into the public eye was not acceptable. The indiscreet diatribe came after another event in which Jon aggressively scolded his daughter for her "ignorant" views regarding the Israel-Hamas war.

According to Jon, the actress and former United Nations Goodwill Ambassador has been "exposed to propaganda," as stated in the cover story for Variety in the month of July. The relationship between the 49-year-old woman and her father has been a turbulent one over the course of the years, and now, it is currently at an all-time low.

“To say they’re not on good terms is an understatement. Angelina was already upset about Jon’s claims she’s been brainwashed by the UN, but he’s made things far worse by giving his two cents on her situation with Brad and their kids,” an unnamed source told Star Magazine.

The father-daughter duo has a complicated history. Jon split from Angelina’s late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, in 1980 over his infidelity.

“When my father had an affair, it changed [my mom’s] life,” Angelina wrote in a 2020 New York Times editorial. She reportedly still carries a lot of anger toward her father.

“She’s never really forgiven him for breaking her mom’s heart,” the anonymous insider shared. After the divorce, she felt abandoned by the “Deliverance” star.

“He was out partying and living the life he wanted to. He wasn’t there for Angelina. By early 2000’s, their problems went public. In a 2002 interview, Jon said Angelina had ‘serious mental health problems,’” the undisclosed informant shared.

She formally removed the "Voight" from her name as a response because of this. However, in more recent years, they succeeded in reaching a detente. In 2017, Angelina disclosed that they had reconnected through her children. She is the mother of Maddox, who is 23 years old, Pax, who is 20 years old, Zahara, who is 19 years old, Shiloh, who is 18 years old, and Vivienne and Knox, who are twins and are 16 years old.

“We’re finding new relationship,” Angelina said. In June, when Jon raved about Angelina and Vivienne after "The Outsiders," which they produced, won a Tony Award, things appeared to be moving in a calm and collected manner. “I’m really proud of Angie because she really tries to encourage each of the kids to be what they want to be,” he said of his daughter.

But at this point, Jon has broken a significant limit. “Angelina finds her dad’s politics hard to stomach, but she really draws the line when he talks about her kids as though he has some inside scoop. It makes her absolutely furious and proves Jon is the same self-centered person he’s always been,” the tipster stated.

Her opinion is that his most recent outburst is "especially offensive" because he suggests that Angelina is to blame for the deadlock that Brad is currently experiencing. There is currently a dispute between the former spouses on who will have custody of their younger children and the French winery known as Chateau Miraval.

“All Angelina has done is stand up for her family. It undermines her and minimizes the trauma she’s been through. Considering Jon was such an absent parent she finds it ironic that he’s now so concerned about her kids,” the mole stated.
