A splashy Italian wedding was the perfect way for Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson to top their already impressive engagement, in which she said yes while floating above snow-capped mountains atop a hanging bridge in Gstaad, Switzerland.
“It was everything they’d hope for and more. The perfect Italian dream with more than 200 guests from all over the world,” an unnamed source told Star Magazine.
An evening cruise along the Amalfi Coast at sunset, a reception in a hilltop castle that had been rebuilt in the 16th century, and a beachside brunch under lemon trees were all part of the three-day event schedule.
"Supergirl" actress, who is 32 years old, and "Gossip Girl" star, who is 37 years old, "felt very honored that so many people made the trip to celebrate," according to the source on the matter.
Andreas, Amy's four-year-old son from a previous relationship, acted as Ed's best man, and it is possible that additional children will soon join him in this role.
“Ed and Amy plan to have kids together right away. Andreas is really looking forward to that,” the anonymous insider went on.
Most, if not all, fans are aware that a ceremony held in London earlier this month marked the couple's first wedding together. The Italian wedding, on the other hand, was described as "romance and vintage charm."
"We wanted a wedding spot that was not only naturally beautiful, surrounded by the ocean, hills and vineyards, but also unique, and we found just that," Amy said. Guests participating in the celebrations included Daisy Lowe, a model, and Kelly Rutherford, who is a co-star on the television show "Gossip Girl" with Ed.
Beginning on Friday, the destination party, which would last for three days, began with a cruise through Naples at nightfall. "We sailed along the coastline of Ravello, Positano, and Sorrento and then anchored at Capri for a dip (in the sea) as the sun set behind the Faraglioni rocks," Amy told PEOPLE Magazine.
Giorgio Armani was the designer of Ed's suit, which he donned with a white jacket, a black bowtie, and black pants, on Saturday. Amy donned a specially designed white gown by Italian designer Alberta Ferretti, which featured a hand-embroidered veil that was fifteen feet long.
"We both wanted (Andreas) to be an integral part of this special moment. He walked down the aisle with me, carried the rings and waited for his mother with me,” Ed told the entertainment news outlet.
"I think it's a really beautiful way to honor their bond and make sure he feels part of our celebration," Amy went on.
An afternoon brunch at a beach club in Vietri sul Mare, a comune located in southern Italy, was the perfect way for the pair to round off their weekend.
Ed and Amy had their first encounter in 2021, and in January of that same year, they made the announcement that they were engaged. In Gstaad, Switzerland, the musician and actor made their proposal on a bridge that was situated between two snow-covered mountains.
In the television show "Gossip Girl," which aired on the CW, Ed played the role of Chuck Bass with Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, and Chace Crawford. On the other hand, Amy, who began her career in Indian films, had her breakthrough in the United States with her performance as Imra Ardeen, also known as Saturn Girl, in the television show "Supergirl," which was initially broadcast on CBS before being moved to the CW.
