Brad Pitt, 60, and George Clooney, 63, appeared jocular during the red carpet presentation of Wolfs at the Venice International Film Festival on September 1. The audience was delighted by their antics.

The two have been friends for years and subsequently reserved a restaurant for a double date with Brad's fiancée of nearly two years, jewelry executive Ines de Ramon, 34, and George Clooney's wife, human rights attorney Amal Clooney, 46.

“They’ve been having a ball. When they get together, it’s always the same, it’s all in fun,” an unnamed source told In Touch Weekly.

It would be easy to overlook the fact that Brad's ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, was receiving critical acclaim for her performance in Maria at the festival, despite the lengthy and contentious divorce between the two and his estrangement from their six children.

“Brad was aware of Angelina being there. And of course he heard about her teary reaction to the standing ovation [after the Maria screening], but he didn’t let that interfere with his plans,” the anonymous insider shared.

Ines' red carpet debut was one of the components of those preparations. In a stylish white sheath, she appeared at ease on his arm. She bore a striking resemblance to the wife of his best friend, who was attired in a slinky slip dress.

“Brad has a good thing going with Ines. He was proud to show her off in Venice. He’s always looked up to George and what he has with Amal, and that’s inspired him in his own decisions regarding his personal life. He appreciates a relationship that’s free of drama,” the undisclosed informant stated.

Most, if not all, fans are aware that, this past weekend, Brad and Ines made their red carpet début at the Venice Film Festival, which contributed to the speculation that the couple is becoming more serious.

PEOPLE Magazine was informed by tipsters earlier in the year that the couple were cohabitating.

"It's pretty recent. They are going very strong and she is happier than ever,” the mole stated.

Additionally, on August 31, PEOPLE Magazine reported that a source informed them, "He's serious about Ines. He's very happy and enjoys spending time with her. She's easygoing and everyone likes her."

It was also reported that Brad has been "working in Europe, so they've spent a lot of time there."

"I think their public appearance is a vote of confidence from the two of them that they’re in it for the long haul. Brad is not one for making announcements or proclamations about his personal life. He has no Instagram or Twitter feed. So, in his case, the most deliberate way to ‘go public’ with something is in this way: just show up together and pose for some photos,” Brian Balthazar of Balthazar Entertainment told Fox News Digital of their debut.
