It is possible that King Charles's hidden abode in New York City could serve as a secure sanctuary for his son, Prince Harry.

As soon as the King's public relations team dispelled the rumors that he had surreptitiously purchased a $9.8 million apartment in Manhattan's Billionaires' Row in July, the story vanished without a trace. However, rumors of the million-dollar hideaway arose once more the previous week, which begs the question: why is King Charles making such a concerted effort to conceal the purchase?

There is a common practice among members of the British royal family to acquire property in other countries. These properties are frequently utilized as official residences for Commonhealth consulates, and it is possible that this is the reason why King Charles made his purchase.

In point of fact, it was believed that the late Queen Elizabeth II had acquired an excellent real estate portfolio in the American metropolis of Manhattan, which included 24 residences spread out over the city, at the time of her passing in the year 2022, The Real Deal reported.

Another hypothesis that is gaining traction is that the King, who is 75 years old, may have purchased the property in order to provide his son, Prince Harry, who is 39 years old, with some form of support while he is dealing with challenges in his marriage to Meghan Markle.

“There’s no doubt a big change is going on for Harry and Meghan. Everything they do, everything they try, rarely does it work out how they want it and the cracks have been showing for some time," an unnamed source told Woman's Day Australia.

“This isn’t just about their awkward body language, he’s not a skilled actor like her and he can’t hide his discomfort with how things are. Harry’s not the first Brit to become disillusioned with California, so it’s no surprise to hear he’s looking for an exit,” explained the royal insider.

Reports that the Duke of Sussex is turning away from Hollywood publicists and reaching out to "seek counsel from his old friends and associates" are circulating in the media in the United Kingdom. This comes at a time when the Duke is making preparations to end his exile in the United States, and his former pals are reportedly planning an operation called "Bring Harry in From the Cold."

“He is clearly reaching out thinking, ‘I need to do something different because what I’m doing is clearly not working.’ In short, he is rethinking the way he operates,” said a source, who spoke to Mail On Sunday, amid claims that Harry reportedly feels as though he has lost his way and is concerned about being overshadowed by Meghan in public.

During their recent trips to Nigeria and Colombia, Meghan reportedly took the spotlight, according to the royal insider for The Sun. “Harry looked a little bit grumpy... he perhaps looked a little bit like ‘the spare’.”

“Harry’s simply looking for a change, which is why it’s no coincidence we’re hearing King Charles has bought a bolthole in New York," the tipster claimed.

“It’s halfway between London and Montecito and gives him a base away from Meghan and her minions,” added the source. “Harry’s going to New York this month, so it will be interesting to see where he actually stays.”

“If Charles has bought this pad to give Harry some space, don’t be surprised if he arrives with more suitcases than he leaves with. It’s possible he’ll be setting it up as an escape option should things get tough with Meghan," the mole furthered.
