Reese Witherspoon and her date arrived at a heliport in New York City on a late July night. A new romantic relationship has been established between the "Morning Show" star and Oliver Haarmann, a German private equity billionaire, one year after she went through her second divorce.
According to rumors, Witherspoon and Haarmann were "friends," but it was stated that the actress from Legally Blonde was taking things slowly when it came to dating.
The two individuals have been acquainted with one another for about a year, but the romantic relationship between them is still in its preliminary phases, as revealed by a friend.
“Reese doesn’t rush into many things frivolously, especially a romance. They were introduced by mutual friends and have been on a few romantic dates," an unnamed source told Closer Weekly.
Regarding new love, Reese, who is 48 years old and has been married to Jim Toth for a period of twelve years, is both hopeful and apprehensive. Jim Toth is the father of the youngest of three children.
With her first husband, fellow actor Ryan Phillippe, the founder of Hello Sunshine, also has two children: a daughter named Ava and a son named Deacon.
While speaking with Harper's BAZAAR for the August 2023 issue of the magazine, Witherspoon had earlier shed light on the similarities and differences between her divorce from Toth, who is 54 years old, and her divorce from Phillippe, who is 49 years old.
“It’s a vulnerable time for me,” she admitted last summer, adding that talking to other women who have gone through the experience of divorce in their middle years has given her a sense of belonging to a group. “I think about how many other people are going through this experience. I don’t feel isolated at all. I feel very connected.”
Like Reese, Oliver, who is 56 years old, has been divorced. He is a father to two boys.
“They’re both looking for a real connection. Oliver is nerdy in a cute way, which Reese likes. He’s a good dad, funny, he loves sports, films and theater, and he gives back to the community, all traits that Reese is attracted to," an anonymous pal said.
He appears to be interested in Reese for reasons other than her celebrity and beauty, which is the best part.
“What’s different about Oliver is that he’s very intrigued by her mind and how she operates. They’re a good match. Let’s see where it goes," the friend went on.
