When Prince Harry and his brother Prince William were invited to attend the most prestigious wedding of the year, the husband of Meghan Markle had two primary concerns about the event.

That is according to a royal specialist and former employee of King Charles, who came out after Prince William attended the lavish wedding of the Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, to Olivia Henson on Friday, without his father, King Charles, or his wife, Princess Kate.

Grant Harrold described his time as the butler of King Charles. "I'm sure [Harry] would have wanted to attend. But Harry and William shared friends and they have likely been drawn into this dispute. Plus, he may have worried that the rift with William would pull focus from the wedding,” he told OK! Magazine in an interview.

"It will be hard for William to attend the wedding without Kate as I'm sure they planned to go together. They're such a partnership and he's his best self when she's by his side,” Grant added.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that King Charles is "devastated" that he was unable to attend the wedding of the Duke, despite the fact that his eldest son and a number of his closest friends and family members were present. “Society event of the year” is the moniker that has been given to the extravagant gathering. Within the context of what was referred to as a "royal affair," the Duke of Westminster, who counts Prince George and Archie Sussex among his godsons, tied the knot with Olivia Henson.

Grant began to reflect on the strong connection that existed between the families. "The Duke of Westminster's late father was Charles' best friend. I witnessed the two families together when I worked with Charles and they are so close,” he stated.

The continuous cancer treatments that King Charles is undergoing have, as one might expect, taken precedence over engagements of this nature.

"Charles has a special bond with the Duke of Westminster too but if he's been forced to miss the wedding due to a packed schedule and his ongoing treatment, that will be a bitter pill to swallow and he'll be devastated. He'd commit to a full work schedule if he could and hates to let people down,” Grant furthered.

Due to the close relationship that exists between them, it is speculated that the Duke may have requested that Charles refrain from attending the wedding. This is especially true when taking into consideration the fact that Charles had traveled to Normandy on June 6 to commemorate the anniversary of the D-Day landings, The Mirror reported.

Not only has cancer placed a shadow over King Charles, but it has also cast a shade over Prince William and Princess Kate, who has been fighting her own traumatic disease this year. Everyone who is close to King Charles is praying for a speedy recovery so that he can resume his duties as a member of the royal family and rejoin his family.
