Selena Gomez discussed her lifelong goal of starting a family by the time she is 35 years old in a candid interview with Vanity Fair. The 32-year-old singer of "Single Soon" has said that she will not have a traditional family.

"I unfortunately can't carry my own children," she explained. "I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby's in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve."

Selena has claimed to be in a "much better place" emotionally at the moment, despite the fact that she deals with bipolar disorder and lupus.

"I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me," she said, noting that Her mother, Mandy Teefey, who is now 48 years old, was adopted. "[I am] really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I'm one of those people. I'm excited for what that journey will look like, but it'll look a little different."

The "Only Murders in the Building" actress has been as forthright about her many health issues throughout her career, so her statement was brave but not surprising.

"While the thought of not being able to give birth on her own still hurts at times, she's moving on," an insider told Life & Style Magazine. "Selena says she refuses to give up on being a mother one day."

Benny Blanco, who has been her boyfriend for almost a year, has been an incredible rock for her. "I've never been loved this way," she's said about the music producer.

“She was up-front with him when they started to get serious, so Benny always knew about her so-called limitations," the insider stated. "He gave her the courage to talk about it publicly, because there's absolutely no shame in it."

In addition, many of the couple's closest friends and family members would be completely unsurprised if Selena's plans to start a family come true well before she is 35.

"Selena and Benny have definitely talked about both adoption and surrogacy," the tipster said. "They might have even started at least one of the processes already."

"You and me both," Benny, who is 36 years old, told Howard Stern in May when the shock jock expressed his wish that Benny and Selena would find a way to get married.

After three months, she took great pains to hide that finger on Instagram, leading to speculation that the couple was engaged.

"The plan is to have a wedding first and babies after, but not much later," the mole said, who added that, if an opportunity arose earlier, "they would have no problem welcoming a child before tying the knot."

Regardless, they have begun discussing potential names for the child.

"The ones Benny comes up with are pretty wild, and Selena just rolls her eyes," the tattler said. "While she wants a classic name for a girl, Selena claims she'll let Benny pick a boy's name... within reason."

The most crucial thing is that Selena knows she will be happy no matter how she has a child.

"At the end of the day, I don't care," she told Vanity Fair. "It'll be my baby."
