Princess Kate and Prince William attended a church close to Balmoral Castle in Scotland on September 22, marking the first public appearance since Princess Kate's chemotherapy concluded.

Prince William and Princess Kate, both 42, were seen together with King Charles, 75, and Queen Camilla, 77, as they drove to Crathie Kirk for Sunday worship. Since the beginning of the year, King Charles has been receiving cancer therapy.

Five days prior to the trip, on September 17, the Princess of Wales held her first formal gathering, which included some of her staff members and those from her Center for Early Childhood, since she had revealed in a video on September 9 that she was stopping her chemotherapy, In Touch Weekly reported.

A peek of her life with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, was shown in the intensely personal film. She also made the commitment to "take each day as it comes" and to do "what I can to stay cancer-free."

Since disclosing her cancer diagnosis in June 2024, Princess Kate made her first public appearance when she participated in the Trooping the Colour ceremony, CBS News reported.

Princess Kate joined the Royal Family for the King's formal birthday, watching the military parade with her three children before her much-awaited appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony. Her return made headlines throughout the world, and she was greeted with an outpouring of love.

At that moment, Princess Kate was reunited with Prince William, who had also participated in the march, and the couple exchanged a lasting glance that was noted by many observing the royal family.

The adorable scene was commended by royal photographer James Whatling.

"It happened over quite a few frames, it wasn't fleeting. They're obviously a very strong unit. You can look at the minutiae of it, because you're taking 20 frames a second and so it goes from a little look and then Kate's smile broadens, and it's lovely, it's very much a 'welcome back', 'it's good to have you back,'" he said.

Reports stated that because of her three small children and her father-in-law, King Charles, Princess Kate felt it was crucial to return for the Trooping the Colour.

"In order for the youngsters to be there and play a full role - riding in a carriage on The Mall, watching proceedings on Horse Guards and joining the family 'balcony moment' - Mummy needed to be there too to keep the 'kiddies' (as she calls her young brood) in check as Papa [ Prince William ] was on horseback," Rebecca English of The Daily Mail said.

"For Kate, there was also a determination to support the father-in-law she has become increasingly close to over the years and with whom she now shares the unenviable bond of a serious health battle," she added.
