It's no secret that John Travolta has had a deep-seated affection for Australia for a very long time. However, our sources claim that he enjoys it so much that he is currently considering leaving the United States in order to start a new life on sunny shores.
The 70-year-old is reportedly fed up with the manner in which he is treated in the entertainment industry. He has always been accepted, liked, and appreciated in Australia, which is his home away from home. As a result, he has set his sights on reinventing himself in the Land Down Under.
"These days in LA, John barely gets recognised. But it's a completely different story in Australia, where it's like Grease or Pulp Fiction came out yesterday," a longtime family friend exclusively told New Idea Magazine. "He loves that there's this whole country where he has been consistently famous for more than 40 years and is never disrespected or the butt of late-night jokes, either.”
"Of course, a lot of that comes down to John's long, close association with the late Olivia Newton-John. Their friendship made him something of an honorary Aussie, and John takes that pretty seriously," the unnamed source went on.
Taking a trip to Sydney from Queenstown, New Zealand, on September 4, the actor, who was nominated for an Academy Award, traveled there with his daughter Ella, who is 24 years old, and his son Benjamin, who is 13 years old, as per News.com.au
Due to the fact that the cause for the whirlwind trip has not been disclosed, many people have speculated that he may have been hunting for properties to purchase during his time away.
When it comes to his personal life, John has had a few years that have been quite challenging. The year 2020 marked the passing of Kelly Preston, his wife of 29 years and the mother of his children. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer two years before her death, PEOPLE Magazine reported.
He may undoubtedly benefit from a new beginning, given that his once-promising career is currently experiencing a decline.
"Yes, in Los Angeles John still has a handful of incredibly powerful friends, and even some billionaire moguls who he can still socialise with and who absolutely treat him like a legend whenever they're all socialising together," the anonymous insider claimed. "But those are the exceptions and among the younger generation of agents and executives, John just isn't treated like a king in Hollywood anymore.”
"His supporters are ageing out of the business and dwindling in numbers," the undisclosed informant concluded.
